Bollywood buffs, get ready for some Deol-ightful sibling action as Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol are poised to grace the coveted couch of Koffee With Karan 8 this week. The promo for the episode promises a rollercoaster ride of fun banter and candid moments with host Karan Johar. However, the show is not all glitz and glamour, it delves into the profound, including a reflective Bobby discussing the downfall and the darkest phase of his career.
Bobby Deol opens up about his lowest and darkest phase in his life and career
Now, Bobby is soaring high, basking in the glory of successful shows like “Ashram,” “Class Of 83,” and movies like “Love Hostel.” Moreover, he’s got an intriguing role lined up in the Ranbir Kapoor starrer, “Animal,” with just the teaser look creating a social media frenzy. But there was a time when Bobby felt trapped in the lows of his career.
Opening up about this on KWK 8, Bobby shared, “I gave up, I started pitying myself. I just took on drinking a lot, I was sitting at home. I used to keep cursing and saying, why don’t people take me? I am good, why don’t they want to work with me? I think I became so negative about everything, that there was no positiveness coming from me. I used to sit at home, my wife works.”
A Trigger for Change
Bobby Deol attributed his transformation to a comment made by his son to his wife. He revealed, “Suddenly I heard my son saying, you know mom, papa sits at home and you go to work everyday. Something snapped in me. I just said, no I can’t! It was a slow process. When I got out of it, it took me time to get into the right mind frame to become okay. It can’t happen overnight.”
Acknowledging Family Support
The actor didn’t forget to credit his family for their unwavering support during his tough times. Bobby expressed, “My brother, my dad, my mom, my sisters, they were always there. You cannot always do anything holding someone’s hand. You have to walk on your two feet. Then things started changing.”
He added, “I became more focused, more serious and when you focus and you have that energy in you. I mean I have gone and met so many people. And I said to myself, I will go and meet people, tell them I want to work with you all. I came to you (Karan) also, you still haven’t worked with me.“
In the meantime, as KWK 8 unveils its second episode this Thursday midnight, Bobby Deol’s star continues to rise.
He is set to grace the silver screen next in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s directorial, “Animal,” alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Anil Kapoor.
