Akshay Kumar is back with all guns blazing in Kesari Chapter 2, and Karan Johar is bringing the emotional mic drops. But just when we thought the buzz couldn’t get any louder, a controversial video lit up the internet. It left a nation boiling with rage. The pain of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre still bleeds in Indian hearts. Now it’s being poked again by none other than the great-granddaughter of General Dyer. No, it didn’t go well.
Karan Johar Furiously Reacts To General Dyer’s Great-Granddaughter’s Comment
At a fiery press meet for Kesari Chapter 2, Karan Johar was not here for the nonsense. Reacting to a video where Caroline Dyer called the victims of Jallianwala Bagh “looters”, Karan didn’t mince words.
“Not just as an Indian, not just as a humanitarian but just like anyone who has even an aorta of empathy, humanity within yourself it will anger you. I don’t want to mince my words. I don’t want to be diplomatic in my answer and certainly not beat around the bush when I say how ridiculous it was of her to say that. And how dare she? She was calling those thousands of people looters, they were innocent people who commemorated there, right there. What was meant to be an auspicious day of Baisakhi, thinking something else would have been eventually of the day, and look what happened. By admission, General Dyer had only stopped shooting when the bullets ran out,” he snapped.
Karan Johar says his blood boils because…
The usually diplomatic producer turned unapologetically blunt and added, “And she went on in that interview to say that he loved India and all kinds of things and that he had the greatest compassion. What love can you have in your heart when your actions only speak of hate? And that fact that she is living in a la la land of her own, some delusion of her own and I don’t know her, haven’t met her and I don’t wish to meet her. But the fact that she even said those things makes me so angry. On a humanitarian level, khoon khaulta hai mera jab maine woh video dekha. The fact that she had such disdain for one of the biggest genocides in the history of our nation and world. And the fact that she was so disdainful of it makes me feel angry. This makes me want and demand an apology even.”
Akshay Kumar’s Clapback Was Quiet, But Powerful
Mr. Khiladi, known for his action-packed avatars, backed up KJo like a true comrade. He didn’t go full throttle, but his disappointment was loud and clear. Akshay shared, “This trauma is what she has never understood. She kept on saying history and all bhul jaao khatam hogaya hai. I don’t think she has understood the lesser known that what has gone through. As of now, what Karan has said, it’s absolutely. I appreciate it. The way he said it is absolutely right. You will see it, the whole thing, by the climax of the film. You will understand the amount of anger. I would rather suggest you watch the film to see the anger.”
What Did Caroline Dyer Say? And Why Is Everyone So Mad?
During a sit-down with Raj Kohli (whose great-uncle survived the massacre), Caroline Dyer made a comment so tone-deaf, it felt like a slap. She casually tossed out, “He was a looter.”
She went on to defend her ancestor – the man who ordered one of the most horrific genocides in Indian history – by calling him “honourable” and “loved by Indians.” Even as Raj tried to explain how his uncle survived by hiding under corpses, Caroline was firm in her stance: “History is history, accept it.”
My blood is literally boiling after hearing this filthy woman Caroline Dyer. She is great-granddaughter of General Dyer, man responsible for Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
