Kajol reveals the secret to a long happy marriage
Kajol, who’s basically the queen of unfiltered honesty, opened up during a fun chat with Mashable India about her long-lasting marriage with Mr. Cool-as-Ice Ajay Devgn. And she didn’t sugarcoat it – “Ajay and I are completely different otherwise it wouldn’t have taken us so long, we would have separated long before.”
The Golden Rule?
Yep, you read that right. Kajol believes the key to a happily-ever-after isn’t flowers and chocolates, but good old convenient memory loss. “I say this quite often that the secret to happy marriage is partial deafness and selective amnesia. You really need to forget certain things about your partner and sometimes unhearing things they said. It is very important,” she said. Honestly, someone embroider this on a throw pillow.
Forget candlelit dinners and cheesy movie nights, the Devgns are all about that no-nonsense life. “We don’t have date nights and all that. Hum yeh sab nahi karte hai (We don’t do all this),” Kajol admitted. “We mostly have family time because it is very rare that we spend time at home together. Either he is working or travelling or I am working or travelling. So whenever we find some time, we try and stay at home with everybody else. No date nights as such,” she revealed. About Ajay Devgn & Kajol’s love story
Their love story began on the sets of Hulchul back in 1995, and sparks flew from the first take. After dating for four years (and giving us mega hit pairings on screen), the duo sealed the deal in 1999. Now, they’re parenting champs to two Gen Z icons-in-the-making: Nysa and Yug.
On the work front, Kajol’s film Maa is set to hit theatres on June 27, 2025. On the other hand, Ajay Devgn is set to star in Son of Sardaar 2. The film will be released in theatres on 25 July 2025.
