Bollywood’s evergreen star, Jaya Bachchan, is known for many things, and being the queen of no-nonsense attitude is one of them. The veteran actress, who has been a target for paparazzi criticism and endless memes, recently took the stage on her granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda’s show, “What The Hell Navya,” spilling the tea on the memes that aim for her.
Jaya Bachchan has the BEST Comeback for her meme creators
In the episode, Navya broke down the concept of a ‘side hustle,’ and Jaya, in her signature style, revealed, “I do (side hustle). I provide meals for some of the people who do my memes.” Now, that’s what we call a classy comeback!
The conversation took a sassy turn when Navya introduced the term ‘Jaya-ing,’ coined after her grandmother’s memes. Shweta Bachchan joined in, saying, “When you are extra salty, it’s Jaya-ing?” To which, Jaya coolly responded, “It’s not in a very complimentary way, but it’s ok.”
Navya, unapologetically, defined ‘Jaya-ing’ as expressing yourself without a care in the world. She then threw a question at her grandmother, “How do you feel about being a pop culture phenomenon?” Jaya, ever the queen of wit, replied, “I don’t mind people making fun of you or laughing at you. I don’t mind, but the people doing the memes are so bad, they should do it properly.” Navya suggested, “You should teach them,” but Jaya, being the boss lady she is, retorted, “Why should I teach them?”
While meme creators might need a crash course in humor from Jaya, the Bollywood legend continues to slay both on and off the screen. Her last appearance in Karan Johar’s “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” showcased her timeless charm alongside stars like Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, and Shabana Azmi.
