Janhvi Kapoor Criticizes gen-z term Situationships as a ‘Retarded Concept’

When it comes to speaking her mind, Janhvi Kapoor is as bold as they come. The Gen-Z star, who’s been in the limelight for her professional achievements and her relationship with Shikhar Pahariya, has some thoughts on the modern-day dating phenomenon known as “situationships.”

For the unversed, a situationship is that murky middle ground between a committed relationship and a casual fling. It’s where you’re more than friends but not quite partners – basically, a romantic limbo. In a world where true love seems harder to find than a unicorn, situationships have become the go-to for many.

Janhvi Kapoor reveals her Take on Situationships

In a recent interview with Mashable, the Ulajh actress was asked about her views on situationships and if she’s ever been tangled in one. Janhvi didn’t hold back. “It feels like a very retarded concept to me,” she said, not mincing words. “It’s either you like someone and you commit to them because you want to be with them and you don’t want to share them, or you are not interested in which case you don’t have time to lead them on into all of that rubbish. Mujhe yeh beech ka samaj mein nahi aata (I do not understand this middle segment).”

Janhvi, embodying the no-nonsense Gen-Z attitude, further elaborated, “Joh bhi aap ladkiyo ko beech mein atkaya hein na, laath mar ke bahar nikalo (All the guys who leave you hanging, kick them and throw them out).” Clearly, she’s all about clarity and commitment, with no room for ambiguity in matters of the heart.

Janhvi Kapoor’s unapologetic stance on situationships resonates with many who are tired of the half-hearted relationships that seem to plague modern dating. She’s a true Gen-Z icon, championing straightforwardness and authenticity in love.

Whether you agree with her or not, one thing’s for sure: Janhvi is not here for the games. It’s either you’re in it for real, or you’re out. And we couldn’t agree more!

What’s Next For Janhvi?

On the work front, Janhvi Kapoor’s upcoming film ‘Ulajh’ is all set to release on 2nd August 2024. Also she is all set to make her Telugu debut in “Devara” alongside Jr. NTR and Saif Ali Khan. Furthermore, she will be seen in “Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari” alongside Varun Dhawan.
