The Nadiadwala family is famous for producing Bollywood blockbusters that the entire family can watch together. After horror comedies, spy sagas, and superhero madness, Firoz Nadiadwala is officially building his very own “Family Universe.” This isn’t just about clean cinema. We’re talking sequels, prequels, mash-ups, and even a sprinkle of Hera Pheri drama. Competition is about to get full-on paisa vasool!
Firoz Nadiadwala announces ‘family verse’
Family Verse > Spy Verse?
Marvel has Avengers. YRF has the Spy Verse. Maddock has the horror-comedy universe, Rohit Shetty has his cop-verse. Now, Bollywood has Nadiadwala’s Family Universe – where comedy, romance, action, and drama sit at the same dinner table. Sequels and prequels of Awara Paagal Deewana, Deewane Huye Paagal, and Aan: Men At Work are officially in the works.
In a conversation with Mid-day, Firox said, “There are cop, horror, and spy universes, but after years of work, we have created a universe of all genres for the family audience. We will make sequels and prequels of ‘Aan: Men at Work’ [2004], ‘Awara Paagal Deewana’, ‘Deewane Huye Paagal’ [2005], and new editions of the ‘Welcome’ and ‘Hera Pheri’ franchise.”
Big Screen, Bigger Madness
Nadiadwala isn’t pulling any punches. He promises larger-than-life entertainers that stay “family clean” while serving double doses of dosti, masti, and dhamaal. Think wild crossovers, old characters making comebacks, and a casting mix of Bollywood legends with the Gen-Z crowd. A universe where Paresh Rawal could literally bump into Jacqueline Fernandez? Only in Bollywood!
He shared, “We’ll also have new movies. All the films will be clean and larger-than-life. That’s why I call it the ‘Family Universe’, which will have new and older actors joining in and crossover characters.”
Firoz gears up for Mahabharata
Fun fact: the man behind Hera Pheri was also the first to make a film on the Mahabharat. Now, he’s gearing up for a new magnum opus- Mahabharata: Right Over Might. Basically, from mythology to meme-worthy comedy, Nadiadwala clearly wants it all.
He confirmed, saying, “We were the first to make a feature film on the Mahabharat. Now I am making ‘Mahabharata – Right over Might’.”
Hera Pheri 3 and the controversy
No “family universe” is complete without Babu Bhaiya, Raju, and Shyam. But Hera Pheri 3 has been pure Bollywood-style chaos. First, Paresh Rawal exits. Then, Akshay Kumar drags the matter to court. Finally, Paresh Rawal returns – leaving fans relieved but still confused. While OG director Priyadarshan has hinted he won’t touch part 3 without a killer script, the buzz is at an all-time high.
Director Priyadarshan, who directed the first film, told Pinkvilla, “I cannot tell if I am doing the third part, unless and until I can crack a film which has to do justice to the first instalment. The first part was born, but the third one shouldn’t let it die. If I am doing the film, I have to make sure that it is tolerable for people who watched the first part. Unless and until I crack the full film, I will never attempt part three. If a good script doesn’t turn out to my conviction, I will not do the film. I have climbed certain heights in my career from where I don’t want to fall badly.”
About Welcome To The Jungle!
Welcome To The Jungle is on its way. Imagine a cast headlined by Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Anil Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Raveena Tandon, and Disha Patani. Basically, it’s a Bollywood buffet – and we’re already hungry.
Forget “universes” that need superheroes and gadgets. Firoz Nadiadwala is creating a Bollywood multiverse powered by family drama, comedy gold, and characters we actually care about. From Hera Pheri’s laugh riots to Welcome’s quirky chaos, this cinematic thali has something for everyone.
