Illegal Use Of Fireworks In Dubai Could Attract Fine Of AED100,000

Dubai is known for a plethora of things, and one of them is the gorgeous firework display it has to offer. And while the fireworks are a spectacle to watch, Dubai is also strict about rules and regulations when it comes to fireworks. Dubai Police has reminded the public that illegal usage of fireworks will attract a fine of AED100,000 and a prison sentence. Illegal use of fireworks is dangerous, and the police have launched their annual campaign to raise awareness about the same. Read on for all the deets.

The slogan of the campaign for the second consecutive year is, “Remember… Fireworks are more dangerous than you think.” The Dubai Police has also launched a helpline number- 901, where people can call and report the use of fireworks. The campaign launched by Security Awareness Department in the General Department for Community Happiness, in collaboration with the General Department for Organisations Security and Protective Emergency, aims to educate and inform the people about the dangers and mishaps that fireworks can cause.

The campaign also highlights the necessary use of fireworks by professionals, especially during various celebrations and special community occasions, to ensure public safety for all participants in these events. Besides, the campaign focuses on the importance of not allowing children and individuals to hold fireworks directly due to danger.

The campaign will continue until April 23, and Dubai police will continue to spread awareness through social media platforms, outdoor advertisements and other mediums to reach more public. Make sure that you take this seriously and stay safe.
