It is HERE! Abu Dhabi on Tuesday unveiled the master plan for the iconic Hudayriyat Island. In line with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council, Modon Properties have revealed the highly anticipated master plan for Hudayriyat Island.
Sprawling over 51 million square meters, equivalent to 53.8 per cent of Abu Dhabi Island, this island will be a leading residential and leisure attraction once ready. Read on for all the deets.

Al Hudayriyat Island Will Be A Leading Residential And Leisure Attraction
Al Hudayriyat Island will enrich the diversity of Abu Dhabi’s urban offering and provide a desirable living environment for residents and visitors. The island will focus on evolving the global model of sustainable living. The first-of-its-kind project will offer elect sports facilities, making it the ultimate destination for unmatched sports and leisure experiences.
The island will be home to high-end residential communities offering panoramic 360-degree views of Abu Dhabi city and the waterfront from its elevated positioning. Furthermore, it will add 53.5 kilometres of coastline to the city’s landscape and be home to 16 km of beaches.
Surf Abu Dhabi Will Be The World’s Most Advanced Artificial Wave Facility
Offering the residents and visitors the best of everything, the Al Hudayriyat Island project will be home to Velodrome Abu Dhabi, Surf Abu Dhabi, a wide range of sport, commerce, and leisure amenities, the largest urban park in the Emirate, and a 220-kilometre-long network of cycle tracks.
According to Abu Dhabi Media Office, set to open by 2023 end Al Hudayriyat Island will be home to Surf Abu Dhabi – the biggest and world’s most advanced artificial wave facility. Designed in partnership with Kelly Slater Wave Co., it will offer a thrilling surfing experience, along with the world’s longest ride, biggest barrel, and largest man-made wave pool. The surfing complex will cater to everyone- from beginners to pro-surfers- this one will be unique in many ways.

Besides this, Velodrome Abu Dhabi will have the first UCI Category 1 indoor cycling track in the region, suitable for international championships. It will also have a rooftop track connected to the ground via a 600-meter cycling ramp winding around the outer walls, giving 360-degree views of Hudayriyat and Abu Dhabi Skyline.
Al Hudayriyat Island Will Be Home To Largest Urban Park In The Emirate
Al Hudayriyat Island will also be home to the largest urban park in the Emirate. Once ready, it will have areas such as an elevated cycling track, an eco-tourism platform, and Mangrove Walk. It will also be home to an eco-farming space, food and beverage outlets, playgrounds, and events valley.
Phase 1 Is Aimed To Be Ready Over The Next 18 Months
In terms of development, Modon Properties, over the next 18 months, will focus on infrastructure for Phase 1 of the approved plan.
