Heartfelt Tributes Pour in from Bollywood as Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Passes Away

A somber day for the Indian nation as former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh breathed his last on Thursday at AIIMS, Delhi. At 92, the architect of India’s economic revolution left behind a legacy that’s nothing short of iconic. As news of his passing broke, Bollywood’s biggest names, from Sanjay Dutt to Madhuri Dixit and Sunny Deol, took to social media to pay their heartfelt tributes.

Bollywood Pays Tribute To Dr. Manmohan Singh

The film fraternity poured their hearts out on X (formerly Twitter), sharing emotional tributes. Sanjay Dutt hailed him as a “man of wisdom,” while Madhuri Dixit reminisced about his humility and contributions to the nation. Sunny Deol, Manoj Bajpayee, Kapil Sharma, and Randeep Hooda also joined the chorus of condolences, acknowledging the towering legacy of this incredible statesman.

From Economist to PM

Born on September 26, 1932, in Gah, Punjab (now in Pakistan), Manmohan Singh wasn’t just a political figure; he was a transformative force. As India’s 13th Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014, he steered the nation through economic turbulence with grace. Remember the 1991 economic reforms? Yep, that was his genius at work as Finance Minister.

Dr. Singh wasn’t just about politics; he was brains and brilliance rolled into one. A Cambridge and Oxford alum, he shattered ceilings as India’s first Sikh Prime Minister. From receiving the Padma Vibhushan to spearheading liberalization, his accolades are as vast as his impact.

The government has declared a seven-day mourning period in honour of the late leader. Dr. Singh’s final rites are scheduled for Saturday in New Delhi, with an official statement expected soon.

A Loss Beyond Words

As we bid farewell to a man who redefined leadership, his calm demeanour, intellect, and service to the nation will remain etched in our hearts forever. Rest in peace, Dr. Manmohan Singh. The nation bows to your unparalleled legacy.

Bollywood might create legends on screen, but Dr. Singh was a real-life hero whose story deserves every bit of the spotlight.
