After giving us sizzling chemistry in Kurbaan and Agent Vinod, Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan might just reunite on-screen once again! While nothing is official yet, filmmaker Hansal Mehta has already directed Bebo in The Buckingham Murders and is now gearing up to direct Saif for the first time. If that wasn’t exciting enough, he just dropped a major hint about working with Kareena again!
Saif Ali Khan & Hansal Mehta: A Power-Packed First Collaboration
Looks like Saif is ready to set the big screen on fire! The Sacred Games star is teaming up with Hansal Mehta for the first time, and this one’s going to be an adaptation of a book.
Speaking at the Cinevesture International Film Festival in Chandigarh, Mehta spilled the beans, saying, “Saif and I are working on a film. I am directing it. It’s an adaptation of a book.” With Saif’s knack for playing layered characters and Hansal’s grip on gripping storytelling (think Scam 1992 and Shahid), this one is already looking like a must-watch!
Hansal Mehta Wants More Of Kareena Kapoor in his films
If you think The Buckingham Murders was a one-time collab between Kareena and Hansal, think again! The filmmaker is totally smitten with Bebo’s acting chops and can’t wait to direct her again. In fact, every time he picks up a script, the first thought that pops into his head is – Can we do this with Kareena?
Talking about his experience working with Bebo, Mehta said, “We have sent a script to Kareena. Every time I look at a script, I ask, ‘Can we do something with Kareena?’ You want to work with her over and over again; she is a different beast altogether. Kareena is one of the most prepared persons on set, a thorough professional, and always happy. She is a big star, but it was a privilege. It was as if I was working with Pratik [Gandhi] or Rajkummar [Rao].”
What Else Is Cooking In The Hansal Mehta Universe?
Apart from his upcoming film with Saif, Hansal is busy building his production empire with an outrageous comedy, a slasher film, and wait for it – a zombie movie!
He’s also working on a massive web series titled Gandhi and an action-packed thriller. There were whispers about Lakshya being cast in the latter, but Mehta is keeping the details under wraps for now.
