The United Arab Emirates has been experiencing a dramatic shift in weather, with hail, heavy rains, and thunderstorms battering parts of the country. While residents in Dubai woke up to overcast skies and cool weather, Al Ain and Abu Dhabi faced the brunt of the storm, witnessing hailstorms and downpours throughout the night.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued yellow and amber alerts, indicating the presence of rain clouds across the nation and the continued possibility of heavy rain in Abu Dhabi and Fujairah. Social media was abuzz with videos shared by the @storm_ae page, capturing the hailstorm in Al Ain.
Despite the downpours, the NCM predicts a gradual improvement in the weather, with dusty and cloudy skies accompanied by scattered rainfall. Temperatures are expected to drop in the mornings, reaching highs between 25°C and 30°C in coastal and inland areas by the afternoon.
However, the NCM warns of increasing humidity at night and on Wednesday morning, with a chance of mist formation. Drivers are advised to be cautious due to moderate to strong winds that could cause sand and dust storms, reducing visibility on the roads. The seas in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea are also expected to be moderate to rough due to the cloudy conditions.
