The king of ’90s comedy, Govinda, just left fans breathing a huge sigh of relief. He has finally being discharged from a Mumbai hospital following a shocking accident. Our beloved “Hero No. 1” gave everyone a serious scare earlier this week when he accidentally shot himself! But, in true Govinda style, he walked (or should we say, rolled) out of the hospital, flashing that iconic grin.
Govinda finally gets discharged from the hospital
Friday morning saw Govinda leaving the hospital, all smiles, with his leg in a cast, and the media circus in full swing outside. Fans and paparazzi gathered to catch a glimpse of their favorite star, and Govinda did not disappoint. Sitting in a wheelchair but looking every bit the charismatic legend he is, he waved to the crowd and greeted everyone with folded hands.
His daughter, Tina, and wife, Sunita, were by his side, with Tina visibly emotional as fans cheered on her father’s recovery.
What Happened?! The Shocking Incident
Govinda was admitted to Criticare Asia Hospital, Mumbai after accidentally shooting himself in the leg. And no, this wasn’t some action movie stunt gone wrong. Apparently, while cleaning his licensed revolver (yes, Govinda owns one!), things went south, and a bullet ended up in his leg. He was alone at home and prepping for a flight when the mishap occurred.
Although no official complaint was filed, Mumbai police were all over it, launching an investigation to get to the bottom of this bizarre incident. The Crime Branch even got involved, ruling out any foul play but keeping a close eye on the situation. Word on the street is that there were some doubts about Govinda’s version of the story.

Recovery Mode: Govinda’s Road to Healing
The good news? Govinda’s on the mend! The medical team, led by Dr. Ramesh Agarwal, removed the bullet, and after a three-day hospital stay, our comedy king is heading home for some well-deserved rest. Dr. Agarwal shared, “He’s doing well and has been advised to take it easy for the next 3-4 weeks.” With a bit of physiotherapy and TLC, Govinda will be back on his feet in no time, maybe even busting out some of his signature dance moves!
During his hospital stay, Govinda had a star-studded support system. From director David Dhawan, who’s given us countless Govinda hits, to ’90s co-star Raveena Tandon, the love was real. Rajpal Yadav, Jackky Bhagnani, and even Shatrughan Sinha also swung by to check in on the legend.
