Dubai Metro Offers Free International Calls During Ramadan

Bridging Distances, Sharing Joy

In a heartwarming gesture, Dubai Metro stations are offering a special treat for residents and visitors this Ramadan. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has teamed up with Metro and Tram operator Keolis to introduce the “We Bring You Closer” initiative. This initiative allows people to make free international calls from select metro stations across the city, making it easier for them to connect with their loved ones abroad during this special time.

Free Calls, Big Smiles

The initiative couldn’t be simpler: four telephone booths have been set up at three key metro stations – Al Ghubaiba, Union, and Jebel Ali. These booths are open for use in the evenings, starting from 5 pm. Whether it’s a quick catch-up with family or a heartfelt conversation with friends, these free international calls offer a convenient way to bridge the distance and share the joy of Ramadan.

Bridging the Communication Gap

Dubai’s diverse population often faces challenges in staying connected with loved ones abroad, especially during Ramadan. While popular apps like Botim may not always be available, and traditional phone calls can be costly, these free international calls provide a welcome solution. Now, residents can communicate without worrying about hefty phone bills, making it easier to share the spirit of Ramadan with those they hold dear.

Spreading Goodwill Through Charity

The “We Bring You Closer” initiative is just one part of the RTA’s broader efforts to foster community and goodwill during Ramadan. In addition to free international calls, the RTA, along with dedicated staff and volunteers, is distributing 8,000 meals to essential workers such as bus drivers, delivery riders, truck drivers, and Abra riders. Additionally, in partnership with the Beit Al Khair Society, the RTA is providing 2,000 iftar meals to those in need through a dedicated Ramadan tent.

Embracing the Spirit of Ramadan

As the holy month unfolds, Dubai residents and visitors are encouraged to take advantage of these initiatives to strengthen connections with their loved ones and support the community. Whether it’s making a free international call or participating in charitable activities, Ramadan offers a unique opportunity to embody the values of compassion, generosity, and solidarity.

For more information on the “We Bring You Closer” initiative and other Ramadan activities by the RTA, individuals can visit the official RTA website or contact their nearest metro station for assistance. Let’s make this Ramadan a time of connection, kindness, and unity for all.
