Ras Al Khaimah is gearing up for a futuristic transportation upgrade with plans to launch flying taxis by 2027. This innovative initiative is a collaboration between Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA), Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA), and Skyports Infrastructure (Skyports), a company leading the way in electric air taxi services.
Connecting Key Destinations
The aim is to create a network of vertiports, or air taxi hubs, linking major attractions across RAK. From popular spots like Al Marjan Island to the breathtaking Jebel Jais, these flying taxis will provide swift and eco-friendly transport options for residents and tourists alike.

Saving Time, Embracing Sustainability
With flying taxis, travel times will be significantly reduced. For example, a journey from Al Marjan Island to Jebel Jais, which currently takes around 70 minutes by car, will be cut down to just 20 minutes. This not only saves time but also aligns with Ras Al Khaimah’s commitment to sustainability, as the taxis will be emission-free.
A Green Future for Ras Al Khaimah
H.E Eng. Esmaeel Hasan Al Blooshi, Director General of RAKTA, emphasized the project’s importance in shaping a greener future for RAK. By introducing electric air mobility, the emirate is taking a big step towards reducing its environmental impact and enhancing accessibility for all.
Anticipation Builds
As the countdown to 2027 begins, excitement is mounting for the arrival of flying taxis in RAK. This groundbreaking initiative promises to redefine urban mobility in the UAE, offering a glimpse into the future of transportation.
