Finolhu Maldives Launches Fundraiser for World Oceans Day 2024

To celebrate World Oceans Day on June 8, 2024, Finolhu Maldives has announced a special fundraiser to support marine conservation. This year’s theme, “Catalyzing Action for Our Ocean & Climate,” focuses on the urgent need to protect our oceans and tackle climate change.

Silent Auction for a Luxurious Stay

A key part of the fundraiser is a silent auction with an incredible prize: a 4-night stay at the Seaside Finolhu Baa Atoll Maldives in an Ocean Pool Villa. This exclusive package includes:

  • Return seaplane transfers from Velana International Airport
  • A manta ray snorkel trip to Hanifaru Bay
  • Coral tree planting and a tour with a marine biologist
  • A Discover Scuba Dive experience for two

Auction Details

The auction starts on June 6, 2024, at 00:00 and ends on June 8, 2024, at 23:59 Finolhu time. The winner will be announced on June 9, 2024. Bidding begins at USD 2500, with a minimum bid increment of USD 100.

Finolhu Maldives: Supporting Marine Conservation

The funds raised will be split equally between Finolhu’s coral propagation program and Maldives Resilient Reefs, a non-profit working to restore the Maldives’ reefs. This organization has led successful campaigns like #ProtectMaldivesSeagrass and #SaveOurSharks, leading to new Marine Protected Areas and significant policy changes.
