Abu Dhabi is set to host the inaugural Fahid Island Watersports Festival from October 25 to November 2, 2025. This nine-day event will showcase a variety of watersports competitions, including the Kite World Cup, Wingfoil World Tour, E-Foil World Cup, Surf Foil World Tour, and Wake Foil World Cup. Over 150 elite athletes from around the globe will compete on the pristine shores of Fahid Island, offering spectators an unforgettable experience.
Event Highlights
Kite World Cup (October 25–30)
The festival kicks off with the GKA Kite World Tour, featuring top kiteboarders competing in freestyle and hydrofoil events. This marks the first time the Kite World Cup is held in Abu Dhabi, bringing international attention to the UAE’s growing watersports scene.
Wingfoil World Tour (October 28–November 2)
Following the kiteboarding events, the GWA Wingfoil World Tour takes center stage. Athletes will demonstrate their skills in wingfoiling competitions, adding another layer of excitement to the festival.
E-Foil World Cup (October 25–26)
The SFT E-Foil World Cup will take place on October 25 and 26, offering spectators a chance to witness high-speed electric hydrofoiling action. This event is part of the Surf Foil World Tour and will crown the world champion in this discipline.
Surf Foil World Tour (October 25–30)
The Surf Foil World Tour will feature top athletes competing in surf foiling events. This discipline combines elements of surfing and hydrofoiling, providing thrilling performances on the water.
Wake Foil World Cup (November 1–2)
The festival concludes with the SFT Wake Foil World Cup on November 1 and 2. Athletes will showcase their wake foiling skills, adding a dynamic end to the festival’s lineup of competitions.
