You Can Explore Hatta On An E-Scooter With RTA’s New Initiative

Dubai is home to tons of attractions and weekend getaway options; however, if there’s one place close to our hearts, it is Hatta. Nestled in the Hajar Mountains and located around 135 km from Dubai- Hatta is the perfect place to unwind in the lap of nature, and go for hikes, kayaking and other recreational activities. And now, exploring the fun getaway is about to get more fun since Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched e-scooters at 11 sites along the 9 km route in Hatta. Read on to know more.

RTA Installs Over 600 Bikes, E-Scooters & More At Hatta

RTA has started operating individual mobility stations for bikes and e-scooters and features a variety of soft mobility means like bikes, mountain bikes, and e-scooters, facilitated by the global micro-mobility provider, Lime. The stations are located at 11 sites, notably the Heritage Village, next to Wadi Hatta Park, Hatta Hill Park, the public bus station, and Hatta Valley.

The authorities are eager to develop these solutions to provide visitors with diverse options to experience the best of Hatta. Known for its unique geographical location, environmental and cultural diversity, and plethora of entertainment options, this place in UAE offers the best of everything.

In fact, in the first quarter, 1,902 trips were recorded, with e-scooters accounting for 984 and bikes and mountain bikes contributing the remaining 918 trips. Activities at present are closed for summers, but whenever you plan to visit this idyllic destination, ensure to enjoy the breathtaking landscape and the mountainous environment by renting individual mobility means such as bikes, e-scooters, and mountain bikes.

There are 600 shared mobility means- 250 e-scooters, 250 bikes, and 150 mountain bikes that can be driven on tracks stretching 11.5 km. Individual mobility means operation stations and rest stops for riders are spread across the tourist hotspots in the area.

Hatta was recently named of the World’s 50 Most Beautiful Towns. his news was shared by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council. Sheikh Hamdan took to Twitter and shared this news.

Sheikh Hamdan shared this news on Twitter, and in a tweet, he said, “One of the globe’s leading travel magazines Conde Nast Traveler, has included Hatta in its list of the ’50 Most Beautiful Small Towns in the World’. The recognition is a testament to @HHShkMohd’s vision for development, which is not only focused on turning Dubai into one of the world’s greatest cities but also developing the emirate’s countryside and transforming its towns into beautiful destinations. I thank the Dubai Government teams that have worked diligently towards achieving @HHShkMohd’s vision to ensure the highest standards of excellence in Dubai.”

Hatta made it to the top 20 list and bagged the 18th spot. Spain’s Albarracín bags first spot, Thailand’s Ban Rak Thai came second on the list, followed by Ecuador’s Baños, Maine’s Bar Harbor and Japan’s Biei. Several Asian and European countries made it to the list.
