Etihad Airways, the esteemed national airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), is set to strengthen its presence in the Indian subcontinent with the inauguration of daily non-stop flights from Abu Dhabi to Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram, commencing on New Year’s Day.

This strategic move underscores Etihad’s commitment to providing seamless connectivity, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s efforts to bridge the gap between India and Abu Dhabi. The introduction of these services brings the total number of Indian gateways served by Etihad to an impressive 10, reinforcing its position as a key player in the region.

CEO Antonoaldo Neves Emphasizes Convenience and Accessibility

Antonoaldo Neves, CEO, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We have established a fantastic group of non-stop routes between India and Abu Dhabi, providing customers with easier access to our growing network without transiting through one of the main Indian hub airports.”

Enhanced Services and Frequency

In 2023, Etihad marked its return to Kolkata and substantially increased the frequency of flights to Mumbai and Delhi, from two flights per day to an impressive four flights per day. This enhancement in services reflects Etihad’s dedication to meeting the rising demand for travel and connectivity in these key Indian cities.

Abu Dhabi: The Hub for Seamless Connections

Neves emphasized the significance of Abu Dhabi as a central hub, offering passengers seamless and practical connections to destinations across the GCC, Europe, and North America. The four daily services to London stand out as a testament to the airline’s commitment to facilitating smooth travel experiences for its passengers.

Looking Ahead: a Vision for 2024

As Etihad continues its trajectory of growth, the airline has already announced plans for 2024. New routes to Boston, USA, commencing on March 31, and Nairobi, Kenya, starting May 1, will further diversify Etihad’s global reach. The summer schedule promises exciting additions, including the inaugural non-stop service to Nice, France, and direct flights to the enchanting Greek Isles of Mykonos and Santorini.
