Emirates Introduces Premium Economy on A380 Flights to Manchester and Milan

Upgraded cabins with added comfort and spacious seating to launch on European routes starting June and July 2025

Emirates is expanding its enhanced Premium Economy experience to two major European destinations: Manchester and Milan. Starting in June and July 2025, passengers on select Emirates A380 flights will be able to enjoy more comfort, space, and upgraded amenities, marking another step forward in the airline’s ongoing cabin retrofit program.

This update is part of Emirates’ broader effort to improve the in-flight experience while maintaining a balance between comfort and value, especially for long-haul travellers

New Routes with Premium Economy Service

Beginning June 6, 2025, Emirates will operate its retrofitted A380 aircraft with Premium Economy on flights EK017/018 to Manchester. From July 1, 2025, the A380 with the new cabin layout will also be deployed on EK091/092 to Milan.

These aircraft are part of the airline’s massive fleet refurbishment initiative, aimed at upgrading more than 120 aircraft with modern interiors and improved passenger offerings.

What Passengers Can Expect in Premium Economy

The Emirates Premium Economy cabin is located at the front section of the main deck of the A380 and is designed to offer a noticeable step up from standard Economy Class.

Key features include:

  • Wider seats with more legroom
  • Greater recline and adjustable footrests
  • In-seat charging ports and USB access
  • A dedicated cocktail table and meal tray
  • Enhanced dining experience with a premium selection of food and beverages

This cabin layout is arranged in a 2-4-2 configuration, ensuring easier access and a more open, relaxed setting. The product is especially appealing for leisure travellers, families, and professionals seeking a better onboard experience without the cost of Business Class.

Part of a Wider Upgrade Strategy

The addition of Manchester and Milan to the Premium Economy network aligns with Emirates’ strategy to offer improved service on high-demand routes. With these two cities added, Emirates will now offer Premium Economy to 19 destinations worldwide.

The ongoing cabin refurbishment programme includes both Airbus A380s and Boeing 777s, with one retrofitted aircraft being introduced to service every three weeks. By September 2025, Emirates aims to have 44 cities served by aircraft featuring the updated cabin design.

Passengers flying to cities such as Sydney, Mumbai, Osaka, Singapore, and Bangalore are already experiencing the benefits of these enhancements.

More Comfort Without the High Price

Emirates’ Premium Economy is intended to bridge the gap between Economy and Business Class. It offers an affordable upgrade with several perks usually found in higher-tier cabins.

Travellers appreciate this product as an ideal option for comfort and added value without a full Business Class fare.

Supporting a Better Travel Experience

As air travel demand continues to grow, passengers are placing greater importance on comfort, especially during long-haul journeys. Emirates is responding by ensuring its aircraft meet these evolving expectations.

These upgrades reflect the airline’s long-term commitment to quality and its goal to offer a more enjoyable journey from take-off to landing.

Booking and Availability

Seats in Premium Economy are available for booking on the Emirates website, app, and through authorised travel agents. Given the increasing popularity of this service, travellers are advised to book early to secure their spot in the new cabin class on flights to Manchester and Milan.

Emirates strengthens its leadership in comfort with Premium Economy on retrofitted A380s, offering a balanced travel experience.
