Dubai’s famous Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) had a fantastic year in 2023, hosting a whopping 2.47 million visitors. This is a big jump from the previous year, showing that Dubai is a top spot for business and events.
Record-Breaking Attendance
The increase in visitors was thanks to successful events like Gitex Global and Gulfood. These events saw more people attending, with Gitex Global growing by 44% and Gulfood by 31%. This shows Dubai’s strength in technology and the food industry.
Global Participation
Dubai also attracted more international visitors, thanks to its busy schedule of events. This aligns with Dubai’s goal of becoming one of the top three economic cities globally by 2033, known as the D33 Agenda.
Thriving Exhibitions
DWTC hosted 20 exhibitions and events in 2023, with a total of 519,000 attendees, a 42% increase from the year before. Over 17,000 companies exhibited at these events, indicating a vibrant business environment.

Strategic Leadership
Helal Saeed Almarri, Director-General of Dubai World Trade Centre Authority, highlighted DWTC’s role in driving important discussions and agreements. Hosting COP28 showcased Dubai’s influence on the global stage and its commitment to economic goals.
Growth Beyond Events
DWTC Authority’s Free Zone saw an increase in new licenses, reaching a total of 1,900. One Central, its real estate segment, had an impressive 95% occupancy rate, indicating strong growth.

Looking ahead to 2024, DWTC aims to continue advancing Dubai’s economic goals and fostering innovation. The increase in international participation underscores Dubai’s global importance as a hub for ideas and initiatives.
With its continued success, DWTC is set to solidify Dubai’s position as a leading destination for trade, exhibitions, and investment opportunities.
