In a much-anticipated return, the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) is set to captivate visitors with its 29th edition, promising a shopping extravaganza coupled with breathtaking free-to-attend attractions. Scheduled to run from December 8, 2023, to January 14, 2024, the festival will showcase a myriad of experiences, with the highlight being the mesmerizing drone shows and vibrant light installations.
Dubai Shopping Festival 2023: Drone Shows Steal the Spotlight
Undoubtedly the longest-running drone light show in the region, Dubai Shopping Festival ‘s drone display is back with a bang. Collaborating with renowned Emirati animator Mohammed Saeed Harib, the genius behind the beloved cartoon series Freej, this year’s show boasts an Emirati cultural flair.

The first act, commencing at 8 pm daily, pays homage to Dubai’s history, with drones forming intricate depictions of the city’s cultural landscapes, focusing on the significance of the pearl. Following at 10 pm is the ‘Illustration of Dubai in the Future,’ narrating an Emirati space explorer’s futuristic journey through a portal. Dubai Lights: Anooki French designers Moetu Batlle and David Passegand bring the charming Anooki characters to life with a focus on the environment and sustainability. Catch this delightful show at Dubai Design District, Al Seef, Gold Souq, and Bluewaters.
Dubai Lights: Modesh Inflatable Mirdif City Centre will host the ‘Modhesh Inflatable’ show, featuring Dubai Shopping Festival mascots Modesh and Dana.
Dubai Lights: Festive Garden at Nakheel Mall Head to Nakheel Mall at the center of Palm Jumeirah for a festive treat, including winter decorations, a water fountain installation, a Christmas tree, and captivating light displays.
