Dubai’s RTA Rolls Out Three New Public Bus Routes

Major Updates Starting November 29

In an exciting development to improve the city’s public transportation system, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is introducing three new public bus routes while streamlining several existing ones. Effective November 29, this comprehensive revamp promises greater convenience, enhanced connectivity, and better time management for residents and visitors alike.

New Routes to Expand Accessibility

The addition of three new routes underscores the RTA’s commitment to offering efficient, accessible public transport options.

  • Route 108
    • This new route directly links Satwa Bus Station with Global Village, catering to visitors during weekends, public holidays, and special events.
    • Operating hours: 2 PM to 1 AM, ensuring late-night accessibility.
    • Frequency: 11 trips in each direction daily with a 60-minute interval.
  • Route F63
    • Designed as a metro feeder service, this route connects Al Ras Metro Station to Union Bus Station, making stops along Al Khaleej Street and Naif Street.
  • Route J05
    • Residents of Mira Community and Dubai Studio City will benefit from this route, which passes through Neshama Townhouses, improving access to suburban areas.

These additions not only aim to enhance commuter convenience but also promote eco-friendly travel by encouraging greater use of public transportation.

Streamlined Routes for Better Efficiency

In tandem with these new routes, the RTA will implement changes to several existing bus lines to improve efficiency and meet evolving commuter demands.

  • Route 5: Now operating in both directions between Abu Hail Bus Station and Union Bus Station, it will no longer serve Al Ras Metro Station.
  • Route 14: Adjusted to terminate at Business Bay Metro Station, ensuring more direct trips for commuters.
  • Route 33: Shortened to end at Karama Bus Station instead of Al Ghubaiba Bus Station.
  • Route 91: Revised to cover Business Bay en route to Jebel Ali Bus Station, while also adding stops at the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) in both directions.
  • Route J02: Modified to streamline travel between Arabian Ranches and Dubai Production City by reducing unnecessary stops.
  • Route J04: Updated to include Sports City while trimming down stops in Dubai Studio City.

Focused Improvements to Enhance Commuting

The RTA will also refine routes like F38 and F39 for better coverage:

  • Route F38: Adjusted to include Al Jurf Heights Group.
  • Route F39: Enhanced to serve Etihad Mall.

Additionally, Route X92 will now cater to DMCC Metro Station passengers and reduce stops at Dubai Investment Park, ensuring faster commutes.

The authority has announced enhancements to 30 routes to better align bus schedules, reduce waiting periods, and improve travel reliability.

RTA’s Vision for Smarter Urban Mobility

These changes support Dubai’s growing population and align with its smart mobility vision.

By optimizing routes and launching new services, the RTA aims to create a seamless and enjoyable commuting experience for all. With Global Village attracting thousands of visitors annually, the introduction of Route 108 is expected to be particularly impactful, easing travel to one of Dubai’s most popular attractions.

Why These Changes Matter

Dubai’s residents and tourists stand to benefit significantly:

  • Enhanced Connectivity: New routes bridge underserved areas with key metro stations and attractions.
  • Time Savings: Streamlined routes mean fewer delays and shorter commutes.
  • Sustainability Goals: Encouraging public transport aligns with Dubai’s green initiatives, reducing reliance on private cars.

What’s Next for Commuters?
