Dubai National Month: Dubai gears up for a month-long celebration

From Flag Day on 3 November to Eid Al Etihad on 2 December, Dubai will transform into a month-long festival of culture, community and national pride.

Dubai is gearing up for one of its most spirited celebrations of the year, Dubai National Month 2025. The city will celebrate the nation’s unity and cultural pride with a full month of events from UAE Flag Day on November 3 to Eid Al Etihad (UAE National Day) on December 2.

The campaign, led by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office, will transform the emirate into a vibrant celebration of heritage, creativity, and national identity. It’s not just about a single day of festivities anymore — it’s an entire month dedicated to the UAE’s story.

The spirit of National Month

Now in its second consecutive year, Dubai National Month aims to create a shared sense of pride across the city. The celebrations will carry forward the #ZayedAndRashid theme, honouring the UAE’s founding fathers — the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.

Under their vision, the UAE was built on unity, generosity, and forward thinking. The month-long campaign reflects those values, connecting past achievements with the country’s ambitious future.

H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, said the campaign showcases “national solidarity and our shared aspirations for the future, rooted in loyalty and belonging.”

expectations, this year

While the full event calendar will be revealed soon, early preparations hint at a lineup filled with light shows, concerts, and public art installations across Dubai.

Last year’s celebrations saw landmarks like Dubai Frame, Expo City’s Al Wasl Dome, City Walk, and Dubai Festival City Mall transformed into dazzling tributes to the UAE. Similar spectacles are expected this year, but on an even grander scale.

The campaign will also extend into neighbourhoods and community spaces, bringing together residents, local entrepreneurs, and families. Expect to see everything from traditional dance performances and Emirati food pop-ups to interactive displays celebrating the UAE’s history.

According to officials, the goal is to make the celebration accessible to everyone — Emiratis, residents, and visitors alike — so the whole city can share in the pride and joy of the season.

A celebration of creativity and community

Brand Dubai is curating the events in collaboration with multiple public and private entities, ensuring that every part of the city gets its moment to shine. The initiative also highlights the “Proudly from Dubai” network, which supports homegrown businesses and creative talent.

Expect these local brands and entrepreneurs to play a key role in the festivities — through pop-up markets, installations, and limited-edition collaborations inspired by the UAE’s identity.

Last year, the campaign’s reach was remarkable, generating billions of social media impressions. The 2025 edition,” the active verb is ‘is expected,’ and the direct object is ‘to exceed that.

Where to experience the celebrations

Dubai’s most iconic landmarks will once again form the heart of the celebration. You can expect light projections, national colours, and creative displays at places such as:

  • Al Wasl Dome, Expo City Dubai – the centrepiece for immersive light shows and live performances.
  • Dubai Frame – an illuminated display of the UAE flag visible across the skyline.
  • City Walk and Dubai Festival City Mall – interactive zones with live entertainment and cultural performances.
  • DXB International Airport – installations welcoming travellers into the spirit of the National Month.
  • Community parks and waterfronts – family activities, flag-raising ceremonies, and heritage exhibitions.

This citywide approach ensures that everyone — whether in Old Dubai or New Dubai — can take part in the experience.

A month built on unity

The beauty of Dubai National Month lies in its inclusivity. It’s not limited to official events or national institutions — it’s a celebration that belongs to the people. Every street corner, every shopping district, and every home will reflect a piece of the UAE’s story.

Beyond the visual spectacle, the campaign fosters dialogue between generations — encouraging younger residents to learn about the nation’s history and achievements while envisioning its future.

It’s also a timely reminder of how far the UAE has come in just over five decades. From its humble beginnings to becoming one of the world’s most innovative nations, the country continues to inspire pride and unity among those who call it home.

How to take part

Participation is simple: be present, get involved, and share the spirit. Residents are encouraged to decorate homes, offices, and cars with the UAE flag, attend public events, and join in online through the #ZayedAndRashid campaign.

Families can plan weekend outings to visit key landmarks, explore cultural events, or simply enjoy the city’s festive atmosphere. Social media users can also contribute by sharing photos and stories that celebrate the nation’s journey.

The idea is to create a connected celebration — one that feels authentic, inclusive, and deeply rooted in national pride.

As Dubai prepares to mark National Month 2025, the energy across the city is unmistakable. It’s more than a holiday — it’s a tribute to vision, leadership, and unity. For those in Dubai, this month-long celebration offers countless opportunities to reconnect with the country’s heritage while celebrating its bright future.
