Dubai RTA Introduces Minibus Pooling service

RTA’s smart minibus service brings flexibility and affordability to Dubai’s transportation system.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched a groundbreaking initiative that allows residents and visitors to share minibus rides through an app-based booking system. The new service is designed to provide a flexible, affordable, and convenient transportation option, aligning with Dubai’s vision of sustainable urban mobility.

What is Dubai’s Minibus Pooling Service?

The Bus Pooling service operates on-demand, offering passengers an easy and efficient way to travel across the city. Unlike traditional public buses, this service does not follow fixed routes, making it a perfect choice for those seeking personalized travel solutions.

Initially, the service covers Deira and connects to major business and leisure hubs such as Business Bay, Dubai Mall, Mirdif, and Dubai Festival City. Passengers can book rides through three dedicated apps: Citylink Shuttle, DrivenBus, and Fluxx Daily, each operated by a licensed company managing 20 minibusses.

Affordable and Dynamic Pricing

One of the key highlights of this initiative is its competitive and dynamic pricing model. Fares are calculated based on distance and demand, ensuring affordability for single trips or subscription plans, including weekly and monthly options. This flexibility makes it a cost-effective alternative for daily commuters and casual travelers alike.

How the Service Works

The minibusses are equipped to accommodate 13 to 30 passengers, providing ample space and comfort. Riders can book their journeys in advance via the designated apps, ensuring seamless travel experiences tailored to their schedules. This system also promotes punctuality and convenience, making it a game-changer in Dubai’s public transportation network.

Supporting Sustainable Transportation

This initiative supports RTA’s strategy to promote shared transportation, reduce private vehicle reliance, ease traffic, and lower emissions for a greener, sustainable Dubai.

Ahmed Hashim Bahrozyan, CEO of RTA’s Public Transport Agency, emphasized the initiative’s goal for faster, convenient navigation.

Future Expansion Plans

Currently available in select areas, the service will expand across the emirate in the coming months. This phased approach ensures a smooth rollout while catering to increasing demand. As the network grows, more residents and visitors will benefit from this innovative transportation solution.

Why Choose Minibus Pooling?

  • Flexibility: Travel without the constraints of fixed routes.
  • Affordability: Dynamic pricing suits various budgets.
  • Convenience: Book rides easily through smart apps.
  • Sustainability: Reduce traffic and environmental impact.

Dubai’s new minibus pooling service is a step forward in redefining urban transportation. It combines technology with sustainability to create a seamless, user-friendly solution for the city’s diverse population. With plans to expand further, this initiative reflects Dubai’s commitment to providing world-class public transport services.
