Dubai’s Red Line on the Metro system faced big troubles recently due to bad weather. Heavy rain flooded the ONPASSIVE station on Tuesday afternoon, April 16, causing a lot of problems for commuters.
Buses Step In for Metro
To help people get around, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) arranged buses between ONPASSIVE and Equiti, as well as UAE Exchange and Dubai Internet City. They’re working hard to get the Metro back to normal soon.
For Dubai Metro Red line users, RTA informs you that there is a service disruption between ONPASSIVE and Equiti stations, due to the unstable weather conditions, bus service has been provided in the affected stations.

Extended Metro Hours
Because of the stormy weather, the RTA decided to keep the Metro running until 3:00 AM on Wednesday, April 17. This extra time was to make sure people could travel safely and to ease the pressure on the trains.
Free Umbrellas for Commuters
For those caught without umbrellas, the RTA set up a neat idea: free smart umbrellas at certain stations like Al Ghubaiba Bus and Metro station. All you need is a valid NOL card to pick one up, making rainy commutes a bit easier.
