Dubai Metro Music Festival 2024 returning to five major metro stations

The Dubai Metro Music Festival is back, ready to turn your daily commute into a musical adventure. From September 21 to 27, five major metro stations will be buzzing with performances by 20 talented musicians from the UAE and around the world. Organized by Brand Dubai in collaboration with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), this festival’s fourth edition promises to captivate audiences with various musical styles.

A Week of Musical Extravaganza

The festival will feature daily performances from 5 PM to 10 PM at Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, BurJuman, Union, and DMCC stations. Each station will host different artists throughout the week, ensuring a fresh experience every day. This initiative not only makes commuting more enjoyable but also celebrates Dubai’s rich cultural diversity.

Diverse Musical Talents

This year’s festival brings together a mix of traditional and modern musicians, from classical performers to innovative fusion artists. Commuters can enjoy instruments like the Qanun, keyboard, drums, flute, violin, saxophone, and more. Some artists will even use instruments made from everyday objects, adding a creative twist to their performances.

Highlights to Look Forward To

Among the standout performances are a nine-year-old Qanun prodigy and a 14-year-old pianist with autism. The festival will also feature recycled instruments, a street artist celebrating heritage music, and vibrant beatboxing acts. For the younger audience, there will be a unique drumming show featuring children and eye-catching drumming acts with light effects.

Enhancing the Commuting Experience

Rashed Al Mulla, Director of Marketing at RTA, highlighted the festival’s role in enhancing residents’ and visitors’ happiness. “RTA is proud to partner with Brand Dubai for the fourth edition of the Dubai Metro Music Festival,” he said. “This initiative reflects RTA’s commitment to enhancing the satisfaction, happiness, and positivity of residents and visitors across the emirate.”

Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the festival’s significance in the city’s cultural calendar. “We are excited to organize the fourth edition of the Dubai Metro Music Festival, an event that has become a much-anticipated annual fixture in the city’s cultural calendar,” she said. “This year’s festival will feature an extraordinary lineup of musicians from around the world, each bringing their unique talents and diverse musical notes to Dubai’s metro stations.”

The Dubai Metro Music Festival is designed to cater to a wide audience, offering something for everyone. Whether you’re a regular commuter or just visiting the city, the festival promises to add a special touch to your journey.
