This summer, Dubai International Airport (DXB) is gearing up for a big increase in passenger traffic. From July 6 to 17, the airport expects to welcome around 3.3 million travelers. Because of this, officials are advising passengers to plan ahead to ensure a smooth travel experience.
Big Surge in Passenger Traffic
Known as one of the busiest airports globally, DXB is preparing for a significant rise in passengers. On average, about 274,000 guests will pass through the airport each day during this busy period. The airport’s busiest weekend is forecasted for July 12 to 14, with around 840,000 travelers. July 13 is expected to be the peak day with about 286,000 passengers.

Tips for a Smooth Travel Experience
To help passengers navigate the busy travel season, DXB has shared several tips:
Arrive Early
- For Emirates Passengers: Use the airline’s home, early, and self-check-in facilities, including city check-in options, to avoid long lines at the airport.
- For flydubai Passengers: Arrive at least four hours before your flight.
- For Passengers with Other Airlines: Arrive no more than three hours before your departure and use online check-in if available.

Families with children over 12 can use Smart Gates to speed up the passport control process.
Know Your Airline’s Baggage Rules
