Dubai Announces Free Parking & Eid Transport Timings for 2026

Residents can expect free public parking and extended metro, tram, and bus services during the Eid Al Fitr holiday.

Dubai is gearing up for Eid Al Fitr 2026 with a series of travel-friendly updates. From free parking to extended public transport hours, the city is making it easier for residents and visitors to move around during the festive break.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has confirmed that these changes will be in effect from March 19 to March 21, helping ease congestion and improve accessibility across Dubai during one of the busiest times of the year.

Free Parking Across Dubai During Eid

One of the biggest reliefs for residents this Eid is free public parking across Dubai. From the first to the third day of Eid, motorists can park in most public zones without paying any fees.

This move is expected to reduce the hassle for families heading out for Eid prayers, visiting relatives, or planning outings across the city. It also helps cut down daily expenses during the holiday.

However, there’s a small exception to keep in mind. Multi-storey parking facilities will continue to charge regular fees, even during the Eid break.

Normal parking tariffs will resume from the fourth day of Eid.

Metro and Tram to Run Longer Hours

Dubai Metro

Public transport users can also expect extended service hours across Dubai Metro and Tram networks.

Both Red and Green Lines of the Dubai Metro will operate from 5:00 am until 1:00 am the following day between March 18 and March 21. This gives commuters more flexibility, especially for late-night outings and family gatherings.

On Sunday, March 22, metro services will start slightly later but continue running until 1:00 am.

The Dubai Tram will follow a similar pattern. It will run from 6:00 am to 1:00 am during the Eid holidays, while on March 22, services will begin at 9:00 am and continue until 1:00 am.

These extended hours are expected to support smoother travel across key areas, especially popular destinations and waterfront spots.

Bus Routes and Marine Transport Adjustments

Bus services will also see temporary changes during the Eid period. Commuters are advised to check updated schedules using the S’hail app before heading out.

Here are a few key route updates:

  • Route E100 will suspend operations from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station from the afternoon of March 18 until March 22
  • Route E101 will continue operating between Ibn Battuta Bus Station and Abu Dhabi
  • Route E102 will run between Al Jafiliya Bus Station and Musaffah from March 19 to March 22

Marine transport, including water taxis, ferries, and abras, will also operate on revised timetables. These changes are designed to handle increased passenger demand during the holiday.

Customer Centres and Vehicle Testing Updates

During Eid, most Customer Happiness Centres across Dubai will remain closed. However, a few essential centres will stay open to assist residents.

The Umm Ramool Customer Happiness Centre will continue operating, along with select Smart Customer Happiness Centres that run 24/7.

Vehicle testing centres, including popular facilities like Tasjeel and Shamil, will be closed from March 19 to March 21. Services will resume on March 22.

Authorities have also noted that if Ramadan completes 30 days, some closures may extend until March 22.

Dubai’s transport and parking will change during the Eid break

These changes come as part of Dubai’s broader effort to make city-wide travel more efficient during major holidays.

With free parking and longer public transport hours, residents can plan their Eid schedules with more ease. Whether it’s visiting family, heading to Eid prayers, or exploring the city, getting around will be more convenient.

Dubai’s Eid Al Fitr 2026 transport plan is designed to keep the city moving smoothly during the festive rush. Free parking and extended transport services will offer both convenience and flexibility to residents and visitors alike.

For anyone planning to step out this Eid, a little preparation will go a long way.
