Dubai Police Announces Festive Cannon Firing Locations For Eid Al Adha

Eid Al Adha celebrations in Dubai have officially begun; from fireworks to cannon firings, residents and visitors are in for a treat during the holidays. In fact, Dubai Police have taken to Twitter to announce six locations of the cannon firings in the emirate. The firings will take place throughout the Eid Al Adha holidays and here’s everything you must know.

Cannon Firing Will Take Place Across 6 Locations In Dubai

In terms of locations, cannon firings will take place in the Baraha area, Nad Al Hamar area, Mankhool area, Zabeel area, Umm Suqeim area and Nad Al Sheba area. Dubai police have been firing the cannons on festive occasions like Eid Al Adha, Eid Al Fitr and Ramadan since the early 1960s. Besides this, RTA also announced free parking in Dubai for Eid Al Adha. Dubai’s Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), in a press release, announced that except for the multi-level parking terminals, all public parking would be free of charge from Tuesday, 9 Dhu Al Hijja (27th June 2023) up to the end of Friday, 12 Dhu Al Hijja (30th June 2023).

RTA Announces Eid Al Adha Parking & Timings 

Besides, announcing the free parking, RTA also announced the updated timings for Dubai Metro, customers’ happiness centres, marine transit modes, service-provider centres and more. For Metro, as per RTA, Metro Red and Green Stations on the Red Line will operate from 5 AM to 1 AM on June 23, 24, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 and July 1st. And on July 2nd, the timings will be 8 AM to 1 AM.

On 23, 24, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 and July 1st, the tram will operate from 6 AM to 1 AM and on July 2nd, the timings will be 9 AM to 1 AM.

Regarding service-provider centres, as per RTA, all service-provider centres (technical testing of vehicles) and Customers Happiness Centres will be closed from Tuesday to Friday, 9 to 12 Dhu al-Hijja (27 to 30 June 2023). The technical testing will be resumed only on 12 Dhu Al Hijja (30 June), and halls will reopen on 13 Dhu Al Hijja (1 July).

The Smart Customers Happiness Centres at Umm Ramool, Deira, Al Barsha, and RTA Head Office will operate as usual 24/7. For public buses, the buses will function Monday to Thursday from 4:30 AM to 12:30 AM, 5 AM to 1 AM on Friday, and 6 AM to 1 AM on Saturday and Sunday.

RTA also announced the timings for Water Buses and Taxis. Water buses from Dubai Marina (BM1) Marina Walk (and vice versa) will operate from 12 PM to 12:11 AM (on the following day), Marina Promenade – Marina Mall (and vice versa) from 4:11 PM to 11:17 PM, Marina Terrace – Marina Walk (and vice versa) from 4:08 PM to 11:16 PM, and Full Line 4:08 PM to 10:56 PM.
