The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced upcoming road closures on the Dubai-Al Ain Road, starting from August 9 and lasting until September 9, 2024. These closures are part of essential bridge maintenance work aimed at improving the road network.
Weekday and Weekend Closures
Weekday Delays: If you’re traveling on weekdays, expect delays between 10 PM and 6 AM. Partial lane closures will slow down traffic in both directions, so plan your trips with this in mind.
Weekend Full Closures: On weekends, the entire Dubai-Al Ain Road will be closed from 1 AM to 10 AM. This closure will be in place for two consecutive weekends, so make sure to find alternate routes or adjust your travel schedule.
To further enhance the #Dubai infrastructure, #RTA informs you of an expected delay on the Dubai – Al Ain Road under the fifth intersection with Jebel Ali – Lehbab Road in both directions, daily on weekdays from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, starting from August 9 until September 9, 2024,…

Alternate Routes to Ease Traffic
To help manage the traffic during these closures, the RTA has suggested some alternative routes:
- From Al Ain to Dubai: Take the exit onto Jebel Ali-Lehbab Road towards Hatta. At the first roundabout, make a U-turn and head back towards Dubai.
- From Dubai to Al Ain: Exit onto Jebel Ali-Lehbab Road towards Jebel Ali Port. Make a U-turn at the first roundabout and continue back towards Al Ain.
Plan Ahead for a Smooth Journey
With these road closures in place, it’s important to plan your trips ahead of time. Consider using the suggested alternative routes to avoid delays, especially during peak hours.
For more updates and information, stay tuned to the RTA’s official channels.
This maintenance work is part of ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and infrastructure, and while it may cause some inconvenience now, it will lead to smoother and safer travel in the future.
