Dubai Airports Expects 3.5 Million Passengers During Eid Al Adha Holidays

Eid Al Adha dates are out, and we are sure you are all set to leave the country and make the most of the 6-day long weekend. And if you are travelling during the Eid Al Adha holiday period- beware since Dubai Airports is expecting 3.5 million passengers through the airport from June 20 to July 3. Yep, you read that right! A whopping 3.5 million travellers will be transiting through the airport, and the world’s busiest airport is about to get busier and how. As per the latest data by Dubai Airports, nearly 252,000 travellers pass through the facility daily during the holiday season. Read on to know more.

The data further says that over the weekend, on Saturday high volume of passengers will depart from the airport. Almost 100,000 passengers will depart from Dubai over the weekend. On July 2, incoming traffic at the Dubai Airports will be at its highest as the airport expects to welcome a record-breaking 305,000 passengers. Dubai’s national carrier- Emirates, is also preparing for a peak travel period and has reported that its busiest days for travel will be Saturday, just before the Eid Al Adha holidays and July 1st. On both these peak days, the airline is expecting over 80,000 outgoing passengers.

Dubai Airports Issues Travel Advisory For Passengers

  • To ensure that both inbound and outbound passengers have a safe, comfortable journey, Emirates Airlines and Dubai Airports have issued some advice for travellers. Emirates has requested passengers to arrive at the airport at least three hours prior and pay attention to boarding times, as gates close 20 minutes before departure.
  • Furthermore, the airline has also requested passengers to use the airline’s home, early and self-service check-in facilities as well as a city check-in option at ICD Brookfield Place in DIFC or in Ajman. Besides, FlyDubai has also requested passengers to arrive at least four hours before the departure time.

Dubai Airports Requests Travellers To Arrive Early, Keep All Their Paperwork In Place & Follow Lugage Rules

  • Travellers flying with other airlines have been asked to arrive at the airport no earlier than three hours before the scheduled departure. Dubai Airports is requesting that travellers use the online check-in option if available. Families with children over age 12 can use Smart Gates for faster passport control.

  • Travellers are requested to weigh their luggage at home and prepare all the documents in advance to smoothen the security process. Dubai Airports has also asked the passengers to review the latest travel regulations followed by their final destinations and arrive prepared with all the necessary documents at the airport.
  • Lastly, Dubai Airports recommends that travellers use Dubai Metro to and from the airport’s Terminals 1 and 3. Also, the arrivals section in Terminals 1 and 3 is for public transport and authorized airport vehicles only. Guest pick-ups are only possible at designated car parks or valet services.
