When you think of Diljit Dosanjh, you think of charisma, music, and moves that can light up the gloomiest of days. The actor-singer extraordinaire is taking the world by storm with his Dil-Luminati tour, and Hyderabad is next on his map. But, because this desi global sensation has hit a government-sized speed bump! Ahead of his much-awaited concert on November 15, 2024, the Telangana government handed Diljit a notice packed with some serious dos and don’ts. Here’s the tea!
Diljit Dosanjh receives a Notice from the Hyderabad Government
The Welfare of Women and Children, Disabled, and Senior Citizens department in Ranga Reddy district has put its foot down. After a citizen from Chandigarh submitted video evidence of Diljit allegedly performing songs promoting alcohol, drugs, and violence at past events, the government got strict. Their message? No questionable lyrics, and definitely no glorification of the party lifestyle. Considering Diljit’s reputation for high-energy performances, this might be a tricky ask.
Here’s another curveball: the government doesn’t just want clean lyrics; they want clean sound levels too. According to the notice, children under 13 are allowed at the concert, but there’s a catch. They can’t be exposed to sound levels over 120 decibels or the kind of beats that can make your heartbeat feel like it’s keeping tempo.
The notice says, “According to the World Health Organisation, adults should not be exposed to sounds with a peak sound pressure level above 140 decibels. For children, the level is reduced to 120 decibels. Therefore, children should not be used on stage during your live show where peak sound pressure is above 120 decibels.”
Guess no adorable little cameos this time, but we all know Diljit’s charm is enough to keep the crowd on their feet.
What’s Next for the Dil-Luminati Tour?
Diljit has been setting the stage ablaze across the globe, with fans cheering him on from New Delhi to Jaipur and even international hotspots. Each performance has been a high-energy spectacle filled with his chart-topping hits and fan-favorite moments.
Despite the restrictions, Diljit’s appeal lies in his ability to adapt and still shine like a superstar. He’s not just an artist; he’s a vibe, a movement, and a celebration of everything larger than life. Hyderabad better be ready for the ultimate Punjabi takeover – with a little government-approved twist, of course!
