Deliveroo has rolled out an innovative pilot program in Dubai, aiming to explore the potential of electric bikes in revolutionizing food delivery services. This initiative, conducted in partnership with EEE Moto and EcoWay, promises to offer a greener and more efficient alternative for urban deliveries.
Testing Electric Bikes and Battery-Swapping Technology
Deliveroo’s new initiative in Dubai focuses on testing electric bikes and advanced battery-swapping technology over a month-long pilot program. This move is set to assess how electric vehicles (EVs) perform in real-world delivery conditions, presenting a sustainable option compared to conventional motorbikes.
Convenient Battery-Swapping Stations
Central to the pilot program is the introduction of strategically located battery-swapping stations. These stations will be integrated within Deliveroo HOP sites and partnered restaurants such as My Govindas and Jeff Darbar. Additionally, third-party logistics agencies and dedicated facilities managed by EEE Moto and EcoWay will host these stations, ensuring seamless battery exchanges and minimizing operational downtime.
