Daboo also revealed that their parents — already in their 80s — just couldn’t wrap their heads around the chaos. Imagine explaining social media outrage, hashtags, and #MeToo trials to someone who still thinks a “status update” means you’re changing jobs. “They just couldn’t process it,” he said.

When asked if he or their other brother, Abu, felt the heat of public judgment, Daboo had a reality check: “We are not stars like Shah Rukh Khan. We are musicians. People on social media often talk too much and give too much importance to things. We don’t see ourselves as that important.”

Rewind to 2018, singers like Sona Mohapatra, Neha Bhasin, Shweta Pandit, and Alisha Chinai accused Anu Malik of sexual harassment. The most shocking claim came from Shweta, who alleged an incident when she was just 15. While lyricist Sameer stepped up to defend him, public opinion had already turned. Anu stepped down from Indian Idol 10, returned for Season 11, but quit again, citing mental strain.
