BREAKING: 10 Key Announcements From UAE’s National Emergency Briefing

UAE officials outline defence readiness, market stability, flight operations and national coordination amid regional escalation.

In a high-level UAE government media briefing held Tuesday evening, senior officials addressed the nation following the recent regional escalation.

From air defence operations to food security, aviation capacity and market monitoring, the message was consistent: the UAE remains secure, operational and prepared.

The briefing included remarks from Brigadier Pilot Abdul Nasser Al Humaid (Ministry of Defense), Her Excellency Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy (Minister of State for International Cooperation), His Excellency Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri (Minister of Economy and Tourism), Brigadier Abdulaziz Al Ahmad (Ministry of Interior), and Dr. Saif Al Dhaheri (National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority).

Here are the 10 key updates residents across Dubai and the UAE should know.

1. Missiles and Drones Were Successfully Intercepted

Brigadier Pilot Abdul Nasser Al Humaid confirmed that the loud sounds heard across parts of the country were the result of air defence systems intercepting ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones.

F-16 and Mirage 2000 fighter jets were deployed. Threats were neutralised mid-air before reaching targets.

2. Minor Damage Was Caused by Debris — Not Direct Hits

Authorities clarified that all reported injuries and limited property damage were caused by falling fragments from intercepted projectiles.

There were no successful direct strikes on targets inside the UAE.

Emergency crews secured debris sites immediately and medical teams responded on the ground.

3. Armed Forces Are on Full Combat Readiness

The Ministry of Defense confirmed heightened defensive deployment.

Early warning systems are active. Monitoring continues around the clock across airspace, territorial waters and land borders.

Operational plans are continuously updated. The Armed Forces reiterated they will take necessary deterrent measures to protect national sovereignty.

4. National Emergency System Activated With Full Coordination

Dr. Saif Al Dhaheri and Brigadier Abdulaziz Al Ahmad explained that the national response system has operated with high professionalism and integration between entities.

Risk assessments are ongoing. Rapid decisions are being made. Field teams, technical units and medical crews are deployed where required.

Authorities stressed that preparedness and institutional planning allowed swift action from the first moment.

5. Essential Services Across the UAE Remain Fully Operational

Officials confirmed that daily life continues normally.

Energy, water, telecommunications, transport, healthcare and supply chains are functioning without disruption.

Distance learning systems have been activated to ensure continuity of education.

Residents were urged to follow official alerts and avoid circulating unverified information.

6. UAE Economy Remains Resilient and Stable

His Excellency Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri stated that the UAE’s diversified and globally integrated economy is well positioned to absorb geopolitical pressures.

Flexible economic policies, strong legislative frameworks and advanced infrastructure have strengthened resilience.

Authorities emphasised that business continuity plans are active across sectors.

7. Strategic Food Stock Covers 4–6 Months

  • The UAE holds a strategic reserve of essential goods sufficient for four to six months.
  • Imports continue at the required pace. There are no signs of supply chain disruptions.
  • Stock locations are distributed strategically across the country to ensure accessibility.
  • Residents were advised to purchase responsibly and avoid hoarding.

8. Real-Time Price Monitoring & 420 Inspection Tours Conducted

The Ministry of Economy and Tourism is monitoring prices through a digital platform connected to 627 major sales outlets nationwide.

Over 420 inspection tours and field visits have been carried out in recent days.

Authorities warned that strict action will be taken against any unjustified price increases, monopolistic practices or exploitation.

Consumers can report violations via official channels.

9. Tourism Sector Operating With High Readiness

  • Despite current developments, the UAE tourism sector remains active.
  • The country has more than 1,260 hotels and over 40,000 tourism-related companies.
  • Officials confirmed close coordination with hotels and tourism operators to ensure visitor safety and service continuity.
  • Tourists and residents were reassured that the hospitality sector remains stable.

10. Aviation Sector Gradually Resuming Flights

The UAE aviation sector is operating under an emergency framework prioritising safety.

Emergency air corridors have been activated in coordination with neighbouring countries, GCC partners and international aviation authorities.

Current emergency capacity allows 48 flights per hour.

Since 1 March 2026, 60 flights have transported 17,498 passengers. The next phase will include more than 80 flights daily, with capacity exceeding 27,000 passengers.

Authorities advised travellers not to go to airports unless contacted by airlines.

In line with its humanitarian approach, the UAE is covering accommodation and living expenses for stranded passengers at affected airports.

Diplomatic Coordination and National Unity

Her Excellency Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy highlighted diplomatic engagement with Gulf and friendly nations amid the escalation.

The UAE reaffirmed its position on sovereignty and regional stability.

Officials praised the unity shown by citizens and residents, noting that societal awareness and calm cooperation have strengthened national resilience.

One line stood out during the briefing:

“Exhaustion may be tactical elsewhere, but in the UAE, steadfastness is the strategy.”

The UAE government media briefing delivered a clear message:

Defence systems are functioning. Markets are stable. Flights are resuming gradually. Services remain uninterrupted.

Authorities remain on high alert, but daily life across Dubai and the Emirates continues with stability.

The UAE has navigated global challenges before. Officials expressed confidence that this phase will be managed with the same preparedness and resilience.
