After teasing us with a cryptic video and sending the internet into a frenzy, he has officially confirmed his return in “Border 2.” Teaming up with T-Series and JP Films, the announcement was made via a dramatic video shared across social media. The caption read, “Ek fauji apne 27 saal purane waade ko pura karne, aa raha hai phirse (A soldier is coming back to fulfill his 27-year-old promise) India’s biggest war film, #Border2.”
The Making of ‘Border 2’
Set to be the biggest war film India has ever seen, “Border 2” promises to revisit the heroic tales of the Battle of Longewala. Filming is set to kick off in October, and the excitement is palpable. Produced by the powerhouse trio of Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, the film will be directed by Anurag Singh with a script penned by Nidhi Dutta.
About Border
Let’s rewind to 1997. JP Dutta’s “Border” hit the screens, leaving audiences with goosebumps and a surge of patriotism. This epic war drama, based on the Battle of Longewala during the Indo-Pak war of 1971, starred Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Akshaye Khanna, Sudesh Berry, and Puneet Issar. Directed and produced by JP Dutta, this film became a monumental piece of Indian cinema.
The story revolves around a small contingent of the Indian Army’s 23rd Battalion of the Punjab Regiment, led by Major Kuldip Singh (played by Sunny Deol). Stationed at the Longewala post in Rajasthan, they are tasked with defending their post against a much larger Pakistani force. Despite being heavily outnumbered and equipped with limited resources, Major Kuldip Singh and his men bravely hold their ground throughout the night. Its powerful performances and soul-stirring narrative made it a timeless classic.
