‘Animal’ has been on our mind since it hit theatres on December 1. The movie has become the talk of the town with mixed reactions from the audience. Talking about the performances, Bobby Deol and Ranbir Kapoor didn’t just deliver a jaw-dropping climax fight scene in ‘Animal’, they left the audience in a collective swoon. Bobby Deol spills the tea on the proposed ‘kiss’ with Ranbir Kapoor
In a candid revelation to The Quint, Bobby Deol spilled the beans on the inspiration behind the climax fight scene. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga had a vision: “There are these two brothers, they want to kill each other, but there’s a love that they have for each other. I’m going to shoot the climax sequence with a song playing in the background, which is about love.”
Sounds intense, right? Well, buckle up because there was initially a kiss planned between Bobby and Ranbir during this all-out brawl. It didn’t make it to the theater cut, but there’s a glimmer of hope for the uncut Netflix version.
Bobby reveals more details, saying, “He (Sandeep) said, ‘You’re fighting, and you suddenly kiss him (Ranbir), and then you don’t give up, and he kills you.’ But he removed the kiss. There was a kiss. I think it might come on the uncut Netflix version. After saying all this, he said, ‘You’re mute.’”
Behind the scenes: Unzipping and the power play
The film’s trailer left us on the edge with the shot of Bobby lying on top of Ranbir during the fight. Bobby revealed it was Sandeep’s concept, showcasing the power dynamics of his character. However, in the end, the hero always triumphs. The unzipping scene? Yup, that was Sandeep’s genius, injecting that alpha energy into every character. Will we get to see the kiss scene in the Netflix UNCUT version? Only Time will tell!
Talking about the film ‘Animal’ it also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, and Triptii Dimri. The film faced off against Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Sam Bahadur’ at the box office.
