Ayushmann will officially step into the shoes of Prem — a name Barjatya has turned into an emotion for generations. From Salman’s dreamy charm in the ’90s to Ayushmann’s modern-day magic, this is a Prem 2.0 moment we didn’t know we needed!
Sharvari Wagh Joins The Family Drama Wagon
Sharvari, who’s been making waves with her effortless screen presence, will be Barjatya’s leading lady this time. The film will unfold in Mumbai, but you can bet it will still have all the Barjatya trademarks, a gigantic joint family, emotions flying higher than kites on Makar Sankranti, and more wedding songs than you can count.

Speaking about his casting choice, Sooraj Barjatya opened up to PTI. About casting Ayushmann, he shared, “He is a dedicated and fine actor. It’s all about finding the right story, making it feel real, and choosing the right cast.” He added, “Besides them, we have more people in the cast, like we always do.”
The director admits he does feel a little nervous, he shared, “I’ve always felt nervous before starting a film, even back when I made Maine Pyar Kiya. For me, it’s not just about box office numbers—what matters is whether the story connects with the audience.”
