A Blast from the Past
The evening took a nostalgic turn when Bachchan reminisced about his unexpected foray into the world of live concerts, all thanks to none other than the late Lata Mangeshkar herself. In a heartfelt moment, Bachchan recalled, “In 1981, I was in New York, and a friend came and said that Lata ji is in New York and she wanted to meet you. I went to meet Lata ji, and she said, ‘There’s a program of mine here, I want you to come on stage for just two minutes and introduce me’. I couldn’t understand why she was asking me to do this. But because she is Lata Mangeshkar, I agreed to her request.”
And guess what? When Lata ji herself asked Bachchan to grace the stage with his melodious voice, the crowd went absolutely wild! With fans grooving to his tunes and cheering him on.
