Alia Bhatt Talks About ADHD Diagnosis; Says Raha and Acting Bring Her ‘Peace’

Alia Bhatt – the queen of Bollywood and a true powerhouse who’s been ruling our screens and collecting awards like souvenir, just got real with us. Beyond the glitz, glam, and that dazzling smile lies a story of struggles and triumphs. The Jigra star is opening up for the first time about her ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) diagnosis, and trust us, it’s not your usual celeb confession.

Alia Bhatt Shares Her ADHD Journey

The National Award-winning actress recently sat down with Lallantop and peeled back the layers, talking about her ADHD journey. Recalling the signs from her childhood, Alia Bhatt admitted,  “From a young age, I would find myself drifting away during class or conversations.” What seemed like daydreaming was something much deeper. It wasn’t until a psychological evaluation that she found out she was on the ADHD spectrum.

But the kicker? Her friends weren’t even a little bit surprised. “Whenever I shared this with my friends, they would say, ‘We always knew.’ For them, it wasn’t a revelation, but for me, it was,” Alia confessed, laughing off the revelation. It wasn’t a dramatic moment for her friends, but it sure was an eye-opener for her.

Finding Her ‘Peace’ On and Off Camera

Dealing with ADHD is no walk in the park, but Alia Bhatt has found ways to stay grounded. And guess what? Her secret weapons are none other than her craft and her little one. “I realized that I feel at peace when I’m in front of the camera; I’m incredibly present when embodying the characters I play. Similarly, after Raha’s arrival, I am most present when I’m with her. Those are the two instances in my life where I truly find peace,”  Alia revealed.

What’s Next for Alia? Jigra and Beyond!

On the work front, Alia Bhatt’s film Jigra opposite Vedang Raina just hit theatres on October 11, 2024. She has a busy scheduled coming up as she will soon star alongside Sharvari Wagh in YRF’s Alpha. She will also be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War alongside husband Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
