Alia Bhatt, the beloved actress of Bollywood, transcends the realms of her craft, embodying not only an exceptional actress but also an extraordinary mother, a devoted life partner, and a trailblazing entrepreneur. Yet, even in her star-studded existence, she remains unshielded from the issues encountered by every new mother. In an interview with Vogue India, Alia Bhatt revealed her challenges and seeking out help for her betterment.

Despite being a prominent actress and a rising star in Bollywood, Alia Bhatt’s most cherished role is that of a mother. With her 7-month-old bundle of joy, Raha, in her arms, she relishes every moment of motherhood, like any other devoted mom. However, even with her success, she admits to experiencing the common yet unsettling feeling of “mom guilt.” She revealed, “there is still a healthy amount of mom guilt.” She said, “It does make me anxious to think whether I am doing right by my baby and work. There’s so much pressure on women to ace both…almost like this old-school dogma that once you have a baby, you have to martyr your career or you’re not a model mum. It’s very important for new mothers to get that time off work to gather their bearings, and it’s equally crucial for corporations and industries to grant them that time instead of writing them off.”
When asked if her star status makes her struggles easier, the actor conceded that it does, she responded, “It definitely is, but I’m always wondering what people are thinking. Do they actually think I’m managing well or are they only saying it to placate me? Even if there isn’t judgement, you feel very critical of yourself. But I work hard at my mental health—I go to therapy every week where I voice these fears. And it helps me understand that this is not something that I will be able to figure out on day one or five or even ten; it’s an ever-evolving, ever-growing process. You have to be able to pick up the pieces of yourself and build anew every day. There’s nothing like, ‘Oh I’ve got it together… I’m coping excellently… I have all the answers.’ No one has all the answers.”
Alia Bhatt tied the knot with Ranbir Kapoor in April of the previous year. The couple’s daughter, named Raha, was born in November. Despite being pregnant, Alia continued to work actively and returned to work soon after giving birth to Raha.

On the work front, Alia Bhatt’s most recent appearance was in Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva’, which also featured Ranbir Kapoor. She is now preparing for her first Hollywood film, ‘Heart of Stone’. Furthermore, she has Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ scheduled to be released later this year. Alia is also set to star in Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Jee Le Zaraa’, which is expected to begin filming this year.
