For weeks, B-town was buzzing louder with the hot rumour that Mr. Perfectionist was planning to retire from his acting career after his dream project, Mahabharat. But Aamir Khan just walked in and gave the gossip mill a reality check with complete clarity.
Aamir Khan clarifies he is not retiring anytime soon
Aamir Khan, during a chill chat at a Zoom Fan Club session, finally cleared the air. All this retirement drama was born from a harmless podcast conversation that got twisted faster than plotlines in an Ekta Kapoor serial.
He explained it like a true wise man: someone asked him, “What’s that one film you’d do that could make you feel like your journey is complete?” And Aamir, being his philosophical self, dropped the Mahabharat as the answer. But nowhere, we repeat, did he say that he’s quitting the post that. People just conveniently skipped the “if” part. Classic misunderstanding, no?
He shared, “The thing is, whatever you say always gets misconstrued. I was asked: if you were to make a film so powerful that afterwards you’d never feel like working again, what film would that be? The ‘if’ is very important.”
With the calm energy and the sass of a Bollywood icon, Aamir said, “Sunna seekho, misquote mat karo.”
What is aamir khan’s plan with Mahabharat?
In case you missed it, Aamir’s been eyeing the Mahabharat like it’s the Everest of filmmaking. During his candid chat with Raj Shamani, the actor spilled some exciting chai: post-Sitaare Zameen Par, he’s diving straight into the epic Indian mytho-verse.
Why? Because Mahabharat isn’t just a tale, it’s an emotional rollercoaster, a philosophical jungle, and a cinematic universe waiting to explode. He added, “In terms of material, there’s only one project I can think of that has the power to make me feel ‘that’s it—my work here is done.’ I answered in that context, but people assumed Mahabharata would be my last film. They should have listened to my response properly.”
What’s next for Aamir?
Before the Mahabharat madness begins, Aamir has something sweet and sporty up his sleeve. His next movie, Sitaare Zameen Par, hits theatres on June 20, and it’s bringing the feels.
Directed by RS Prasanna, this one’s the desi take on the Spanish film Campeones. Expect heart, hustle, humour, and a whole lot of Aamir magic, because this man doesn’t do basic.
