Bollywood’s biggest Khans – Salman Khan and Aamir Khan – aren’t just superstars, but the definition of “ride or die” friends. We’ve seen them cheer for each other’s films, show up at events like family, and prove that their bromance is stronger than any Friday box-office battle. But guess what? There’s more to this friendship than meets the eye. Aamir has now spilled some tea about how his bond with Salman actually grew during the darkest phase of his life – his divorce from Reena Dutta. Humanity first, competition later!
Aamir Khan opens up about his relationship with Salman Khan
The duo, who once gave us the cult comedy Andaz Apna Apna, recently reunited – but this time not on screen, rather on Kajol and Twinkle Khanna’s new chat show Two Much. While the banter had us grinning, it was Aamir’s emotional confession that stole the show.
Aamir recalled how back in the day, when his marriage with Reena was falling apart, Salman casually dropped in for dinner. That night, something shifted. The wall between them broke, and what started as small talk turned into the foundation of their lifelong bond. As Aamir put it, that’s when they really connected for the first time.
He shared, “Actually, I think it happened when I went through my divorce with Reena. You remember? You had come over for dinner, and that’s when Salman and I first actually connected properly.”
Of course, Aamir didn’t hold back on his honest side. He admitted that during Andaz Apna Apna, he found Salman’s late arrivals on set maddening. In his own words, “Before that, I used to feel ki bhai time pe nahi aata, humko bohot problem hoti thi Andaz Apna Apna mein (I used to feel he doesn’t come on time, we often faced problems during the shooting of Andaz Apna Apna).” He confessed, “I want to say something. Salman mein bohot judgmental tha yaar, shuru shuru mein na. I was very hard as a person.”
Over time, he realised there was more to Salman than just punctuality issues – there was loyalty, warmth, and an unshakable friendship.
Kajol & Twinkle’s Couch Of Chaos
The episode wasn’t just about heart-to-hearts – it also delivered the kind of laughter and madness only this trio (plus Twinkle!) can serve. Kajol admitted the idea of the show was born out of her wild conversations with Twinkle, while Mrs Funnybones herself promised “zero rehearsals, only raw, mischievous honesty.” Mission accomplished, ladies!
Bromance Over Box Office
In a world where rivalries often make bigger headlines than friendships, Aamir and Salman just reminded everyone that sometimes, the strongest bonds are built in the toughest times. Fans got nostalgia, laughs, and a touching reminder: friendships in Bollywood may be rare, but when they’re real, they last forever.
