But before you start picturing Aamir plotting the film’s big box office take-over, slow your roll. The man’s just here for the vibes, not the distribution hustle.

Lately, whispers have been floating around that Aamir was secretly steering Coolie’s release strategy. Well, Aamir Khan Productions just pulled the emergency brake on that gossip express. A spokesperson made it crystal clear: neither Aamir nor his crew are making calls to distributors, exhibitors about this film’s release.
The official statement read, “Neither Aamir Khan, nor anyone from his team, is involved in the distribution of Coolie. Mr Khan has not made any calls to any exhibitor or distributor. His cameo in the film is purely a gesture of his bond with director Lokesh Kanagaraj and Rajinikanth. Everyone at AKP, especially Aamir Khan, is thrilled with the success of Sitaare Zameen Par’s YouTube release and is overjoyed with the response it has received.”

Coolie is shaping up to be a cinematic avalanche, directed by the man who made adrenaline his middle name, Lokesh Kanagaraj. With a cast that’s practically a festival in itself – Rajinikanth, Sathyaraj, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, the movie’s going full throttle for an August 14, 2025, release.
Sun Pictures, the studio behind this monster, is also juggling Jailer 2 and AA 22 X A6 at the same time. They’re clearly in their “no sleep, just blockbusters” era. Coolie – The Powerhouse is promised to be the desi action epic we’ll still be talking about five years from now.
