Rory McIlroy to Return for Hero Dubai Desert Classic 2026

Northern Irish star eyes fifth title at Emirates Golf Club

McIlroy, who has lifted the Dubai Desert Classic trophy four times, narrowly missed out in 2025 after finishing fourth. Fresh from securing a career Grand Slam at Augusta National, he will return to Dubai with strong momentum.

Speaking ahead of the tournament, McIlroy said:
“It’s been a very special year for me, and I’m excited about what’s still to come. The Hero Dubai Desert Classic has always been one of my favourite tournaments, and I’m really looking forward to returning to Emirates Golf Club in January. I consider Dubai a second home – the support there is always incredible, and it’s the perfect place to start the year.”

Festival atmosphere beyond the fairways

The Hero Dubai Desert Classic is not just about world-class golf; it has also become a community festival. Alongside the tournament, visitors can look forward to a lively Tournament Town featuring live music, food trucks, arts and crafts, and interactive activities for all ages.

With a family-friendly approach, the event has become one of Dubai’s most anticipated sporting weekends, attracting both golf fans and casual visitors with entertainment, dining, and a vibrant atmosphere.
