DXB Airlines Resume Full Operations from July 18 as Flights to Tehran Return

Emirates reinstates its daily Tehran service, while flydubai continues operations across Iran, Iraq, and beyond

Travellers passing through Dubai International Airport (DXB) can now look forward to uninterrupted flight schedules as the city’s major carriers return to full operational capacity. Starting Friday, July 18, Emirates will restart its daily service to Tehran, marking the completion of its regional network restoration.

Meanwhile, flydubai had already resumed all previously affected routes earlier this month, including services to Iran, Iraq, Russia, and the Levant.

This recovery comes just in time for the summer travel surge, bringing much-needed convenience for residents and visitors flying out of the UAE.

Emirates to resume Tehran route from July 18

The Dubai-based carrier had temporarily suspended flights to and from Tehran due to regional developments. The airline confirmed that all services to the Iranian capital would remain on hold until Thursday, July 17. However, passengers can now begin booking with confidence as the daily route returns from Friday, July 18.

Bookings that had been previously held or rescheduled will now be honoured, and travellers with confirmed tickets to Tehran will be processed from their original departure points.

This reinstatement of Tehran flights rounds off Emirates’ return to full operations at DXB.

flydubai’s early return to full service

Ahead of Emirates, flydubai had already resumed flights across its regional network. Beginning in the first week of July, the airline reinstated its services to Tehran, Mashhad, Bandar Abbas, Lar, and Shiraz.

Additionally, flydubai resumed flights to St. Petersburg and continued its connections to Baghdad, Basra, and other cities in Iraq. Destinations across Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria are also operating as per schedule.

Despite the return to normalcy, the airline has stated it will continue to review the situation in various regions and adjust schedules only if necessary.

Precautionary pause behind earlier delays

The temporary disruptions trace back to late June, when UAE authorities announced a precautionary suspension of air traffic in parts of the country. Just before midnight on Monday, June 23, the Dubai Media Office released a statement confirming a temporary halt across DXB and Al Maktoum International Airport.

By the following morning, operations had resumed, and airlines began gradually restoring affected routes. The safety of passengers and airline staff was at the core of this decision, and Dubai’s aviation sector worked swiftly to return to regular schedules.

Travellers advised to double-check flight status

While the flight network is now operating normally, both Emirates and flydubai recommend that passengers verify their flight status with the respective airline before heading to the airport.

Although most routes have resumed without issue, minor adjustments or last-minute timing changes may still occur. This is especially relevant for those flying to regions that have recently experienced heightened geopolitical activity.

Travellers holding confirmed bookings to Tehran or other Iranian cities can now expect seamless processing from their original departure points.

Dubai’s aviation sector back in high gear

Dubai’s airports—particularly DXB—serve as one of the busiest aviation hubs globally. The rapid resumption of services reflects the resilience and agility of the emirate’s aviation infrastructure.

Collaborative efforts between carriers, airport authorities, and civil aviation bodies ensured that the pause in operations was short-lived and handled with minimal inconvenience to passengers.

The summer holiday season typically sees a spike in outbound travel from the UAE. With DXB airlines resuming full operations, the timing couldn’t be better for those planning leisure or family trips.

The bigger picture for UAE-based travellers

The full reinstatement of DXB’s flight network is more than just an operational update—it reinstates confidence for the thousands of travellers who rely on Dubai’s connectivity. Whether it’s a weekend in Amman, a business trip to Basra, or a return home to Mashhad, smoother travel is now within reach.

Additionally, it reinforces Dubai’s reputation as a reliable global hub, even amid unpredictable circumstances.

Passengers are still encouraged to stay updated via their airline’s official platforms or contact centres, especially if flying to destinations with ongoing travel advisories.
