Emirates is adding a splash of color to its flights this Holi by offering passengers a taste of traditional Indian flavors and entertainment. On March 13 and 14, 2025, passengers traveling to and from India can enjoy specially curated treats and entertainment options to celebrate the festival of colors while in the air.
Special Holi Treats on Emirates Flights
Passengers flying in all classes to seven Indian cities — Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Mumbai — will be treated to Kesar Gujiya, a popular Indian sweet. This deep-fried dumpling is stuffed with solidified milk and dried fruits, offering a rich and flavorful bite. The Kesar Gujiya will be served in a specially designed box inspired by the vibrant colors of Holi.
For those flying in First and Business Class on March 14, the celebration will start with a refreshing glass of Thandai. This traditional drink combines milk and nuts, flavors it with saffron, and tops it with rose petals—perfectly capturing the essence of Holi!
Enhanced In-Flight Entertainment with Indian Hits
To complement the festive treats, Emirates’ award-winning in-flight entertainment system, ice, will feature an expanded selection of Indian movies and music. Passengers can choose from over 260 Indian films, including popular hits like Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, Patna Shuklla, and Shaitaan. A curated collection of Yash Raj Films will also be available, offering a mix of romantic and action-packed stories.
For music lovers, the in-flight entertainment will feature more than 40 Indian music albums and playlists, including popular Desi tracks. Indian TV shows will also be available, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy during the flight.
Emirates’ Commitment to Cultural Celebrations
Emirates has a long-standing connection with India, serving the country for over 38 years. The airline currently operates 167 weekly flights to nine Indian destinations, including Mumbai, Delhi, and Chennai. Emirates’ decision to celebrate Holi onboard reflects its commitment to honoring cultural traditions and enhancing the travel experience for its Indian passengers.
This celebration aligns with the Emirates’ tradition of recognizing global festivals. The airline has previously introduced special in-flight menus and entertainment during Christmas, Lunar New Year, Easter, Oktoberfest, and Diwali. Such initiatives highlight Emirates’ dedication to creating a personalized and culturally rich travel experience.
Traveling to India on the New A350
Emirates recently introduced its new Airbus A350 aircraft on select routes to India, including Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The new A350 features enhanced cabin comfort, advanced in-flight technology, and a modern design, promising a more comfortable and luxurious travel experience.
Emirates’ Holi offerings showcase the airline’s dedication to providing a memorable and culturally immersive experience for its passengers. Whether it’s savoring traditional Indian sweets, enjoying a glass of Thandai, or indulging in the latest Bollywood blockbusters, travelers can look forward to a festive journey while celebrating Holi in the skies.
