Abu Dhabi Offers Free Parking on January 1, 2025

Enjoy seamless New Year celebrations with waived parking fees and toll charges across Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi residents and visitors can ring in the New Year hassle-free, as the emirate has announced free parking and toll exemptions on January 1, 2025. This initiative is part of the government’s effort to facilitate smoother transportation and reduce travel-related stress during the holiday season.

Free Parking Across the City

On January 1, all surface parking fees in Abu Dhabi will be waived. This means drivers can park without charges for the entire day. Regular parking fees under the MAWAQiF system will resume at 8:00 AM on January 2, 2025. Additionally, parking charges for trucks at the Musaffah M-18 lot will also be suspended for the holiday.

Encourage motorists to park only in designated areas and avoid prohibited zones to ensure a smooth traffic flow across the city. Parking in residential spaces between 9:00 PM and 8:00 AM remains restricted to residents.

Darb Toll Waivers

Abu Dhabi’s Darb toll gate system will not be operational on New Year’s Day, offering motorists toll-free passage through all gates. This exemption applies throughout January 1, with regular toll schedules resuming on January 2 during peak hours, from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

This gesture allows residents and visitors to enjoy festivities without worrying about toll expenses.

Public Transport Schedules

Public transportation services in Abu Dhabi will operate on holiday schedules for January 1. Additional regional and intercity buses will be deployed to accommodate increased demand during New Year celebrations. Advise commuters to check schedules through official platforms like the Darbi app for real-time updates.

Customer Service Center Closures

Government customer service centers, including Customer Happiness Centres, will remain closed on January 1. Services will resume on January 2. However, residents can access essential services through online platforms like TAMM, Darbi, and the Darb apps.

For any queries, Abu Dhabi’s service support centers will be available around the clock via their toll-free numbers.

Celebrate the New Year with Ease

Abu Dhabi’s initiative to provide free parking and toll waivers reflects its commitment to enhancing convenience for residents and visitors alike. Encourage motorists to follow parking regulations and plan their trips to make the most of this thoughtful provision.
