This initiative, starting on August 12, 2024, will provide crucial health coverage at the University Hospital Sharjah.

The new program, which will cover approximately 8,000 residents, comes with an impressive budget of Dhs80 million. This scheme provides access to care at the University Hospital Sharjah. He explained that eligible individuals will receive an SMS with a link to register. This link will allow them to enter their details and confirm they do not have existing health insurance. Once verified, their coverage will be activated.

This new health insurance program adds to Sharjah’s existing efforts to ensure comprehensive healthcare for its residents. Currently, the Sharjah government covers around 118,000 people, including employees and retirees, through Al Buhaira National Insurance. Additionally, 12,000 Sharjah citizens aged 50 and above, including those with special needs and social assistance recipients, already receive treatment at the University Hospital Sharjah.
