5 UAE Officials, 1 Message: Here’s What They Announced

From air defence to food security and flight updates, here’s exactly what each UAE official announced in the national media briefing.

The UAE March 3 media briefing brought together senior government leaders to address residents following recent regional escalation.

While headlines focused on missile interceptions and flight updates, the detailed remarks from each official offered deeper insight into how the country is responding across defence, economy, aviation and emergency management.

Here’s a clear breakdown of who said what — and what it means for residents across Dubai and the UAE.

1. Brigadier Pilot Abdul Nasser Al Humaid (Defence)

“Air Defence Systems Are Working Around the Clock”

Speaking on behalf of the Ministry of Defense, Brigadier Pilot Abdul Nasser Al Humaid confirmed that the loud sounds heard in several areas were the result of air defence systems intercepting ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones.

He explained that Emirati F-16 and Mirage 2000 fighter jets were deployed to engage aerial threats. The interceptions were successful.

Importantly, he clarified that injuries and minor property damage reported in some areas were caused by falling debris from intercepted projectiles — not direct strikes on targets inside the UAE.

He emphasised that the Armed Forces are operating at heightened readiness. Defensive deployment has been strengthened. Early warning systems are active. Monitoring continues 24/7 across airspace, territorial waters and land borders.

His message was firm: the UAE will not accept any threat to its sovereignty.

For residents who heard the blasts over the past few days, this clarification provides context. The defence system functioned as designed — neutralising threats before impact.

2. Brigadier Abdulaziz Al Ahmad:

“National Coordination Ensured Swift Response”

Brigadier Abdulaziz Al Ahmad, spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior, addressed the internal security dimension.

He stated that the national system responded with high professionalism and proactive coordination from the beginning of events. Decision-making was rapid. Execution was precise.

Field teams, technical crews and medical responders were deployed immediately to secure debris sites and assess any damage.

He stressed that all actions were taken according to approved operational safety procedures.

In practical terms, this means that emergency response mechanisms were activated without delay — ensuring that affected areas were secured quickly and services restored where necessary.

3. Dr Saif Al Dhaheri:

“Essential Services Continue Without Disruption”

Dr. Saif Al Dhaheri, spokesperson of the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, focused on continuity and public reassurance.

He confirmed that energy, water, telecommunications, transport and healthcare services are operating normally.

Distance learning systems have been activated to ensure stability in the education sector.

Business continuity plans are in place across vital sectors to prevent disruption.

He also highlighted the activation of the joint national media cell, which operates around the clock to provide transparent updates.

Residents were urged to follow official early warning alerts and avoid circulating rumours or unverified information.

His message was clear: daily life in the UAE continues steadily despite regional challenges.

4. H.E. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri:

“Markets Are Stable, Stock Covers 4–6 Months”

His Excellency Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, addressed economic stability and consumer protection.

He stated that the UAE economy remains resilient due to diversification, proactive policies and strong global partnerships.

A key reassurance was food security. The UAE currently holds a strategic stock of essential goods sufficient for four to six months.

Imports continue according to approved plans. There are no signs of supply chain disruption.

The Ministry is monitoring prices in real time through a digital platform connected to 627 major sales outlets. Over 420 inspection tours have been conducted to prevent unjustified price increases or monopolistic practices.

Residents were urged to purchase responsibly and avoid hoarding.

He also addressed tourism and aviation. The UAE has more than 1,260 hotels and over 40,000 tourism-related companies operating nationwide. The sector remains functional and coordinated.

In aviation, emergency air corridors have been activated. Since March 1, 60 flights have transported 17,498 passengers. The next phase will see more than 80 flights daily, with capacity exceeding 27,000 passengers.

Stranded travellers’ accommodation and essential costs are being covered by the State.

Travellers were advised not to go to airports unless contacted by airlines.

5. H.E. Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy:

“Diplomatic Coordination Is Ongoing”

Her Excellency Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy addressed the diplomatic front.

She noted coordination with Gulf, sister and friendly nations in response to developments.

The UAE reaffirmed its consistent position on sovereignty and regional stability.

Her remarks underscored that engagement is taking place on international platforms while national security measures remain active at home.

Impact on residents

Across all five speakers, the message was unified:

  • Air defence systems are functioning effectively.
  • Minor damages were caused by debris from interceptions.
  • Essential services remain uninterrupted.
  • Markets are stable with sufficient stock.
  • Flights are resuming gradually under safety protocols.
  • National coordination remains strong.

For residents in Dubai and across the Emirates, daily routines continue. Offices remain open. Supermarkets are stocked. Public transport is running.

The briefing emphasised preparedness over panic, coordination over confusion.

The UAE has navigated complex regional and global challenges before. Officials expressed confidence that the country will move through this phase with resilience and unity.
